Olivia Palermo: Valentino is a Girl's Best Friend

Most of us know Olivia Palermo from her stint on The City. She wasn't exactly...the nicest girl at Elle Magazine or DVF but there is no doubt that this woman has style. I don't think anyone can argue with that.

Olivia Palermo at the Make Up For Ever launch at Sephora wearing Valentino Rose Sequin Clutch, Top Shop Shrug, Emilio De La Moreno Top and Skirt, Black Bow Booties, and Blue Studded Belt.

Olivia Palermo at a Mango Fashion & Music Night wearing Valentino Rose Sequin Clutch, Jimmy Choo Lace-Up Sandals, Mango Pleated Dress, and an ASOS Ring.

Olivia Palermo at Paris Fashion Week wearing a Valentino Rose Sequin Clutch, Besoni Leopard Print Dress, Valentino Lace Rose Heels, and a Vintage Leopard Belt.

She always looks stunning. On a completely random note I'm just catching up on my politics and humor while watching The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. I find him hilarious and informative at the same time. What do you watch to get your information. Oprah? The View? Ellen? Comment below!

The Rachel Zoe Baby Project!

I blogged about Rachel Zoe's pregnancy before it was officially announced. I know. I know. That's bad journalism--if you can ever call what I do journalism. But I was too excited at the prospect of a baby Zoe. Anyway, now I don't have to use the words "allegedly" when I'm talking about it. Here's a look at the clothes a baby girl Zoe would inherit. Lucky.

Rachel Zoe in Marc Jacobs [left] and Chanel [right].

Rachel shimmers in this marvelous Marc Jacobs number. Zoe went to support her good friend in his own design. Long sleeves on a gown can easily look matronly but with the low cut top and the high middle slit keeps the dress look young and fresh. No jewelry, a black clutch, and a heels keep the look stylish.

Chanel is effortless, classic, and iconic. And Rachel is all of those things in this black garmet. Her signature blonde waves are the only bit of color in this monochormatic look. But what it lacks in color it makes up for in beautiful construction.

Rachel Zoe in Emilio Pucci [left] and Calvin Klein [right].

Emilio Pucci is known for his brilliant uses of prints. And this look on Rachel is no expcetion. The floorsweeping length is so glamorous and elgant. A clutch and bold bangle is all she needs to complete the look.

Calvin Kelin is effortless, simple, and clean lines. This jumper is exactly that. The olive green color is a nice unexpected neutral. Throw on a jacket and Rachel would look amazing in the cold winter weather and yet she reminds everyone of spring on the inside. Lovely.

I hope that Rodger and Rachel have a beautiful baby. I'm a huge fan of their show and they've been talking about having one for a long time now. Does anyone know when the next season of The Rachel Zoe Project set to premiere on Bravo? Comment below!

Favorite Victoria's Secret Angels!

The Victoria Secret's Fashion Show was on last night. At ten o'clock, two hours later than last year, due to complants from parents that this material is too racy for some younger viewers. Or at least that's what my VS Pink ethusiast sister told me this morning. But whether you loved it or hated it, it was a show-stopping event. Katy Perry was brilliant and all the angels looked amazing. Let's a take a look at some of our favorite angels, past and present.

Chanel Iman in Prabal Gurung [left] and Marc Jacobs [right].

One of the newest additions to the VS runway, Chanel Iman is a pro at walking. She has graced hundreds of runways in Paris, Milan, and New York. She is an all-American girl: born in Atlanta, Gerogia and raised in Los Angelos. But with a name like Chanel, this girl was destined for the fashion world. It was so sweet seeing her get her wings. :)

Miranda Kerr in a printed skirt and button-up top [left] and a bright orange dress [right].

Ms. Miranda Kerr is one of many who are currently part of the fashion baby boom. Her baby, the father being her husband Orlando Bloom, is said to be delivered in January 2011. This Austrailiam beauty is known for her sweet dimples in her cheeks and her long run as a VS model. Unfortunately, Miranda wasn't there to rock the runway. Being pregnant and all.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Burberry [left] and a grey/brown fur coat [right].

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley isn't too  familiar with American audience but that won't last for long. She was chosen to repalce Megan Fox in the popular Tranfsromers series, the latest of which will be blasting into theaters summer 2011. This British beauty has been in ads for Burberry and Victoria's Secret.

Heidi Klum in Jenny Packham [left] and a fitted bedazzled blazer [right].

One of the best known VS models. She's transformed her success on the runway to an even more successful brand. She hosts the ever popular Project Runway on Lifetime. And she and British singer Seal have four children together and Ms. Klum became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 2008. Unforntuately Ms. Klum has retired her wings. But we will miss her.

The lineup of angels doesn't stop there but I don't have the space, nor the time, to list every angel. That would be unrealistic. I picked my faves. Who is your favorite angel? Comment below. I'd love to hear from you!

Fashion Baby Boom!

Is there something in the water? Because there have been a fashion baby boom! Who recently gave birth? Continue reading to find out.
__
In case you haven't heard Stella McCartney, vegan designer extroidinaire gave birth to a young girl last week. This will be her fourth child with her publisher husband, Alasdhair Willis. The McCartney clan's newest addition, Reiley, will join brothers, Miller [5] and Beckett [2], and sister, Bailey [3]. All four children were born in London.

McCartney is known for her distaste for using animal products, such as leather, in the making of her clothing. If you are vegan Stella's line is a great option for you. But Stella McCartney wasn't the only fashionista welcoming a beautiful baby into the world.

Nina Garcia, Project Runway judge and fashion director of Marie Claire, has also given birth to a child. This past weekend Nina Garcia gave birth to her second boy, Alexander David Conrad. This will be the second child for Nina Garcia and David Conrad, their other son, Lucas Alexander Conrad was born in early 2007.

Reports say that this will not interfere with Nina's role as judge on the popular Lifetime show, seen above with fellow host Michael Kors. This is a make it work moment. Tim Gunn would be proud.

Both women and babies are doing fine. But while the Hollywood baby boom is starting to show signs of decreasing, babies in the fashion world show no signs of stopping. McCartney and Garcia have our best wishes. Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

Gwyneth Paltrow's Big Interview with Chlesea

Gwyneth has been making headlines. And not the way most celebrities do. No stumbling out of night clubs. No good girl behaving badly. She performed at the CMA's promoting her new movie, Country Strong. Then she made a guest appearance on Glee [which i loved!], and now she was on Chelsea Lately's Big Interview Special with Anne Hathaway and Xtina.

Gwyneth Paltrow in silk top, black shorts, and Emilio Pucci shoes [left]. Gwyneth in a Stella McCartney blazer and military cropped pants [right].

Who said that short weren't stylish? Well, obviously that person has never seen Gwyneth Paltrow rock them. She picks a dark color-short with a light lavender top. The top is baggy to contrast with Gwyneth's long legs. And those black strappy heels are to die for!

Stella McCartney has a way with separates. And this sand blazer looks great with her military inspired cropped pants. Most of you know that I'm a big sucker for anything military inspired. I love army green as a neutral. Her hair is always styled to perfection but I'd love to mention that her shoes are so unique. With the wide, white band across the front. So pretty.

Gwyneth Paltrow in Louis Vuitton [left] and Calvin Klein Collection [right].

LV. I have been and always will be in love with Louis Vuitton. I love the dress itself. Its stunning with the subtle sparkles and tear-drop shaped whole in the front. That is so unique and cutting edge. Not adoring Gwyneth's sleeked back hair but I understand that she was taking a risk. And I applaud her on that.

Next this citrus colored mini is so chic. I love short dress with long sleeves. In my mind its a classic way to look professional without looking hoochy. She paired them with subtle heels that are meant to accessorize not steal the show. A very smart move.

First, let me say that Gwyneth's interview with Chelsea Handler was hilarious. I loved it when Gwyneth was talking about how her daughter talks in a British accent when she's with friends but is completely American with the family. Apple sounds adorable! Just watch the interview below!

2010 AMA: Best Dressed

The AMA's aired Sunday night on ABC. Justin Beiber was the big music winner of the night but let's be honest. The fashion is what everyone is talking about. And in that arena women of music and non-music backgrounds shimmered and shined in the spotlight.

Miley Cyrus in Marchesa [left] and Jessica Alba in Cushnie Ochs [right].

In this hand-painted Marchesa creation--with an extended train--Miley is looking grown up and beautiful. The white color contrast stunningly with her slightly tanned skin and newly dyed blonde-ish hair. Miley chose to accesorize the look with sparkly silver shoes, silver bangles, and bold red nails.

Jessica looks simple and stunning in this structure one-shoulder look. She doesn't intend to steal attention away from nominees [she presented Favorite Female Country Artist to the straigth-haired Taylor Swift] but with her effortless style Jessica steals manages to shine on the red carpet.

Fergie in Falguni and Shane [left] and Mandy Moore in Matthew Williamson [right].

Fergie stuns in a super short blue and black peacock inspired look. The strong shoulders with feathers are so chic. She pushes the limits without making her outfit look too costume-y. Nice choice Fergie. :)

Mandy Moore sparkles in this fun, young mini-dress. Her new animated-feature, Tangled, is coming out Thanksgiving weekend and I know that I'm interested, how did Disney continue on in the iconic Disney Princesses? She looks so confident--and that is key when picking out a dress.

Whitney Port in a Rafael Cennamo [left] and Heidi Klum in a sheer lace dress [right].

Whitney, sporting a darker hair-color than we're used to, shines in this Greccian inspired dress. The berry-white color and simple brown shoes are effortless. There si no doubt that Whitney looks stunning.

Ms. Klum stunned viewers with her simple lace gown. In a dress that could've easily looked like a woman in mourning, Heidi manages to look young and fashion-forward. Her dangling ball earrings bring attention to her strong bone structure and beaming style. Seal is one lucky man.

Taylor Swift in Collette Dinnigan [left] and Katy Perry in Badgley Mischka [right].

Taylor relies on her usual sparkly, girly style. But something that isn't the norm is Taylor Swift's sleek straight hair and blunt bangs. No one else grabs this amount of attention with a simple straightener. Katy takes a more subtle approach than what we're used to. No flashes lights. No blue hair. Just a subtle rose. Beautiful.
__
The highlight of the show for me was the NKOTB and BSB performance. I was a huge fan of the BSB when I was little. It was nice to see them perform again. Oh, did you like Taylor with her straight hair? Comment below!

LC Returns to TV

Remember when Lauren Conrad got her start on Teen Vogue? That was such a long time ago. So many boyfriends. So many episodes. So many Heidi Montags ago. :) Now, this shining star is back where she got her start.

"For the first time, they're going to actually acknowledge the fame that goes along with the show...[but] it's not going to revolve around my personal life."

"I watch a little reality now, and while I know it's been partially ruined for me because I've been through the process, I think the format has become too beautiful and perfect. It doesn't look or feel real anymore."
__
"I still wear giant ones even though glasses are shrinking," she professes, "because I have a jack-in-the-box face. It's like when people would carry huge bags because they were convinced they made them look thinner."

I love the fifties-inspired shoot. And that dog is just down-right adorable. :) Her book, Lauren Conrad Style is on the top of my "must buy" lists and I can't wait for her new MTV reality show to premiere. Through all the drama Lauren has always managed to stay classy and clean of a bad image--unlike some of other cast mates. I don't need to mention names.

What did you think of today's post? Please leave your thoughts in the comments! :)

Gwyneth Paltrow Gets Glee-ful

Lately, I've felt that the episodes haven't been as strong as last season but in the past couple weeks there has been vast improvement. I love Kurt's blooming relationship--he needs someone to love. And Gwyneth brought so much life to Tuesday's episode. Not only can this woman dance and sing, but she has great sense of style too!

Gwyneth Paltrow in Victoria Beckham Collection [left] and Burberry [right].

Gwyn looks sleek in a fitting Victoria Beckham dress. She's always been a fan of the minimalistic look and it always looks amazing on her. Gwyneth knows that less is sometimes more. Some of the credit must go to Ms. Beckham for her ingenious dresses that make all women look incredible.

Next, Gwyn has been of fan of the British powerhouse that is Burberry. Her medium length seems to always be tousled to perfection. She looks chic in a classic trench and rain booties. When you're singin' in the rain, this is the way to look. That was my favorite song from the whole episode.

Gwyneth Paltrow in classic blazer with military-inspired pants [left] and sheer white button-up with black shorts and a Stella McCartney clutch [right].

Gwyneth takes a much more casual approach in her laid-back blazer and military pants look. Even off the red-carpet, this Academy-Award Winner looks like a star. She doesn't look like she's trying too hard and the entire outfit looks effortless. And on a side note, I'm always a sucker for military-inspired pieces. Those pants are to die for. :)

A slightly less casual look. With a tucked in button-up and super short black shorts, Gwyneth takes a new spin on menswear. Makeup is minimal and she accessories the look with simple black pumps and a bag from her friend, Stella McCartney. So chic.

If you want to see Gwyneth and the entire Glee cast preforming a mash up of Singin' in the Rain and Umbrella. Click here. I thought it was one of the best performances, if not the best, of the season. What do you think?

Rumor has it that Blake Lively...

Blake is known for playing the super-sweet, incredibly beutiful blonde. The one that everyone hates [even if its just a little bit] because she's just too perfect. There was Bridget Vreeland in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Serena Van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl.

But while she has taken movie and TV by storm, she is a star in the world of fashion. Her long blonde hair and charismatic smile seem to sparkle in a photgraph. She looks great in almost anything she puts on. If only everyone could be as lucky. :)

Blake Lively in Christian Dior [left] and Matthew Williamson [right].

That bright magenta color photgraphs beautifully. It is a color that looks great on most skin-tones--and Blake looks beautiful. The leather jacket keeps the Dior dress from looking too girly or frou-frou. It adds a bit of edge to the look. The only way to make this outfit better, was if the background had been any color other than black. Blake's entire lower half blend into the background.

This is casual chic! She looks ready to go shopping or countless other day-time activities. The blue leather skirt is an unexpected color for such a fabric. Then she picks the perfect top. It is a print to add interest to the outfit but the colors aren't matchy-matchy. The pulled back hair highlights Blake's natural beauty. Her simple makeup is perfect for the day.

Blake Lively in Elie Saab [left] and Lanvin [right].

Blake sparkles in that playful Elie Saab look. The cut-outs are both edgy and young. This woman is so incrediably photogentic and this look shows off her amazing legs. Simple black pumps and black nails finish of the look with effortless simplicity.

Next, Blake is wearing a look straight from the runway. She wore the look as it was in the show. Harness, broach, and everything. The dress is very fashion-forward and needs no touseled hair to distract from the craftsmanship of the look. The long slit is very sexy with glimpses of leg as she walks. Add chunky bangles and shoes to balance out the draping of the skirt, and the look is complete.

Gossip Girl this season is really good. So much better than last season. I love Clemence Poesy. She was amazing as Eva. I want Blair and Chuck to get back together but I can't get over how douch-ey Chuck was when he sold Blair for his hotel. Jeezz...boys. Are you watching Gossip Girl? [you should. jk!]

Karlie Kloss Rocks the Runway

Karlie Kloss is just like other teenagers her age--well, except for the fact that she's graced the runways of New York, Paris, London, and Milan multiple times. She is a breath of fresh American air. And she was even  born in Illinois before she sky-rocketed to super-stardom.

I was beyond thrilled when she recently made a guest appearance on Gossip Girl. It wasn't an Emmy winning performance but it was good fun for all of her fans to see her. I was watching and then all of a sudden she popped onto the screen--at first I thought it was just a Karlie Kloss doppelganger. :)

Karlie Kloss in the Paul & Joe S/S 2011 RTW Show [left] and Alexander McQueen S/S 2011 RTW Show [right].

She's only 18 and Vogue Paris named her one of the top 30 models of the past decade! Now that's really impressive. :) I only see her fame and prestige growing in the years to come. She could become a great but only time will tell. Who are your favorite models on the runway? Please comment below!
