Today's Inspiration: Red Dresses

Today I'm feeling a bit inspired. I wore bright, bold red. And as I'm lying in bed writing this, I won't deny that I'm still in a bit of a red mood--whatever that means. But don't worry I'm not mad. I'm just appreciating the richness and depth of this wonderful color. After all, the song isn't about a lady in cucumber green.

Lanvin Hearts H&M? Well, I Heart Lanvin + H&M!

Go bold, Stella. Or go home.

Valentino RED.

Red isn't just for brunettes. Kristen proves that blondes can be bold too.

Who says that reds must be paired with neutrals? Whoever said that was a liar!

Rock that runway Karlie!

I hope that you're a little inspired. I know that I am. Please don't forget to check out my second blog, Thoughts of a Fashionista! And follow this blog for updates about whenever I post!

Style Highlights: Emma Stone

Emma Stone sparkled as the cheeky red head girl in Easy A. Emma made the not-so-recent transition from a proud ginger to an even prouder blonde for her role in the upcoming Spiderman movie with Andrew Garfield. Am I super nerdy that I'm so excited? Please leave your favorite look in the comments below!

Emma looked amazing in this plum dress! I especially love her fringe. I know that not everyone will agree with me but I think this Chanel dress is so unexpected, so chic, so unique. Plus, I have to commend Emma for finding a pair of shoes that match her dress to perfection.

Emma is lovely in Lanvin. I remember seeing this dress on the runway and thinking that it would look stunning on the red carpet and Emma didn't prove me wrong. I adore the faux-bob hairstyle--her makeup is to die for. I also love the fact that Emma didn't try to overwhelm the look with too many accessories. Less is truly more in this situation.

I don't know if its just the dress but Emma looks SO tan. I adore the shimmery appearance of the material and how it looks in the long column design. The golden chain around her neck is so chic. I love the Grecian inspired hairstyle and simple makeup. I believe this was the first time I saw Emma's blonde hair and I thought she looked wonderful.

Be brave and embrace the baby blue! Sigh. This outfit was the reason I decided to write this post. I NEEDED to write about this look. There is nothing I would change about this look. I adore the fuchsia lip. I cannot tell you how much I love Emma's fuchsia lip. Perfection!

Thank you guys for reading! Come back tomorrow for more fashion news and obsessions. I'm so grateful. Don't froget to follow and check out my second blog!

Rihanna + Miu Miu Peep-Toe Booties

Rihanna is a risk-taker. I don't think anyone would argue that point. Her style is so versatile and unpredictable. Lately Rihanna has been spotted around town with her Miu Miu peep-toe booties. And they're adorable. I want a pair of my own!

Heart Gwyneth Paltrow's Style

Just watched the E! Special on Gwyneth Paltrow. I found it fascinating. Did anyone else watch it? Since Winter Break started and most of my college applications are done, I've been catching up on all the TV shows I missed due to my over-booked schedule. But enough about me. We're supposed to be talking about Gwyn's style.

Gwyneth Paltrow in Giorgio Armani [left] and Valentino [right].

Gwyneth knows how to rock menswear with a twist. Classic shorts have been seen all over the red carpet. The classic white color is perfect for a block0buster premiere and she breaks up the monochromatic look with a simple black clutch and peep-toe booties. This clean-lined Valentino look is equally stunning. Add edgy heels and the look is complete.

Gwyneth Paltrow in Giuseppe Zanotti [left] and in Chado Ralph Rucci Mini with Lanvin Heels [right].

Gwyneth rocks a futuristic look in this body-hugging mini. The mettalic geometric shapes splattered randomly and the odd cutouts make the look a standout pieces. Piecey curls, dark booties, and a sunny disposition complete the outfit. Gwyneth's next look is more than a bit daring. The unexpected detailing down the center of the dress almost looks like an outline of her ribcage but it is effortlessly chic. Plus, those Lanvin heels are gorgeous.

I'm off to put the final touches on my last two college apps. Yes! I can't wait to be finished.

The New Face of Miss Dior Cherie

If you haven't heard, the new face of Miss Dior Cherie will be no other than Natalie Portman. Yes, the Black Swan star will be featured in the campaign for the well-known perfume that mixes the subtle scents of green tangerine, pink jasmine, and patchouli. Dior made a wise deciscion for picking sucha  fashion-forward and strong lady.

Natalie can never go wrong in floor-length mixed with a bold color. Both the purple and the bright red bring out the best in Portman's color. Strappy heels and elegant buns don't hurt either. Both dresses have such intricate and unexpected necklines that take the dress to another level. Adore.

Natalie Portman in Miu Miu [left] and Christian Dior [right].

While Portman can handle long dress, she also looks stunning in short minis. She looks angelic in her baby-pink lace Dior dress. She matched them with sweet ballet-inspired heels and a black and white clutch. Her Miu Miu look is still sweet but she adds a drama with gold heels and a shorter hemline. Both very different. But both very beautiful.

Portman is excited for this new adventure in fashion, describing the campaign as "playful, chic, and Parisan". Sounds intriguing. Blake Lively: Runway in Real Life

Blake Lively is a fashion icon. And not just because she plays Serena van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl. She has become the darling of brands like Lanvin, Chanel, Elie Saab. Almost anyone who has influence in the fashion industry wants Blake to wear their clothing. Now is a chance to examine how Blake rocks looks right off the runway.

From Lanvin's Spring 2011 show [left] and Blake Lively in Lanvin [right].

Blake wears this Lanvin look almost exactly as it was seen on the runway. Same shoes. Same leash with bug broach. Her tied back in a bun with only bangles for jewelry. The only difference being that Blake went for a monochromatic outfit while the opener for Lanvin's Spring show wore a camel top. Both women look utterly fabulous.

From Versace's Spring 2011 Show [left] and Blake Lively in Versace [right].

Donatella Versace added lots and lots of fringe for her Spring show. And a look that is so fashion is really hard to pull of in the main-stream media. But Blake manages to look effortless with a few slight changes to the runway styling. She opted for black shoes instead of nude and long dangling earrings to mimic the shape of the dramatic fringe in the front.

From Marchesa's Fall 2010 Show [left] and Blake Lively in Elie Saab [right].

This beautifully sequined gown from Elie Saab is stunning. The cutouts add interest, show a little skin, but are far from vulgar. Blake wears blocky black heels rather than the strappy ones seen on the runway and she leaves a few wisps of hair to frame her face. Add bold black nails and million watt smile and Blake looks ready for anything.

December is finally here! It's the most wonderful time of the year! I hope you all are having an amazing year so far. And I'll talk to you guys soon! Bye. :)

Behind the Runway with Karlie Kloss

I know we all like to think that models just pop up at the begining of the runway with perfect hair and perfect clothing. With little to no preperation. We all know its not true but most of us don't know what goes on behind the scenes. What do models do for hours--while they're getting their hair and makeup done? While they're waiting for the show to begin?

Well, here's a look behind the scenes with Karlie Kloss. One of my favorties! :)

Here's a fun video I found on Teen Vogue's account on Youtube. :) She seems so down to eart and cool. Want to know Karlie's winter weather essential? It's not what you think.

Bye, guys! I'll talk to you soon. :) Who should I blog about next? Suggestions are warmly welcomed!

Anne Hathaway: Her Style Diaries

We were introduced to Anne Hathaway in the The Princess Diaries based of Meg Cabot's book of the same name. I love both. :) But since 2001, Anne has grown into a truly respected actress--garnering an Academy Award nomination for her part in Rachel Getting Married.

She also works with Rachel Zoe and appeared on The Rachel Zoe Project this season. If the world of reality TV is to be trusted, then she is as charismatic in person as she was in The Devil Wears Prada. :) The fact that she has transformed from Disney darling to fashion queen is very impressive.

Anne Hathaway in Dior and snakeskin Louboutins [left]. Anne wearing the same snakeskin Louboutins but with a Armani cocktail dress [right].

I love both of these dress but for different reasons. The Dior look is a bit sexier and the asymmetrical look is very Grecian but with a twist. Anne is known for her million-watt smile and she uses it like a favorite accessory. Her sparkling hoops twinkle from behind her messy hair. <3

Then there is her Armani look. It is ethereal and light but at the same time impeccably structured. Her hair is tied back in a tight bun but still manages to look young and carefree. Some of it must be credited to Mr. Armani's brilliant work and some of it must be credited to her stunning smile.

Anne Hathaway in a Lanvin jumpsuit [left] and Erdem [right].

This Lanvin creation is a jumpsuit but it is a far cry from the outfits that are commonly found at NASCAR races. The asymmetrical neckline shows off some skin, making sure not to overwhelm her delicate frame. Her old Hollywood makeup and hair are such a nice contrast from her super modern Lanvin garment.

Then there is her Erdem look. It is a youthful print cut into a very demure pattern. Normally I would say this garment is a little old for her but she's attending Variety's Power of Women luncheon. That luncheon is to celebrate the strides women have made and it would be distasteful to wear a plunging neckline. To sexual herself at a event that is honoring how powerful women are outside of their sexuality. And for this occasion. The look is perfect. :)

I know I say this every time I post but Anne is one my style icon. :) I guess I have a lot more style icons that I originally thought... But I hope you guys liked this post. What was your favorite look? Do you have a favorite Anne Hathaway movie?

Mine has to be a tie between The Deveil Wears Prada and The Princess Diaries. Talk to you guys soon! Bye. Follow! Comment! Subscribe! Please? :)
