Should You Go See Tangled?

The answer to that question is, Yes! I went to see it and I thought it was adorable. It is no Lion King or Beauty and the Beast but it is an enjoyable way to spend a Friday afternoon. And if you don't see it now you might have to wait an incredibly long time to get your Disney Princess fix in theaters. Edwin Catmull, president of Walt Disney Animation Studios, said that the studio was going to explore other stories in the foreseeable future before they create another Princess film.

And not only does this movie have kick-butt music, dancing, and characters. But Mandy Moore, voice of the long-haired Rapunzel, is as stylish as they come. I named her as one of the best dressed at the 2010 American Music Awards. But Mandy has brilliant style on and off the red carpet. But don't take my word for it. See for yourself.

Mandy Moore in a simple black dress [left] and a grey top, black cardigan, and jeans [right].

Mandy looks great in black. Simple. Sleek. And a huge leap from the blonde sugar pop girl she used to be. Love the delicate lace sleeves on her dress. And those shoes. Are to die! The heels is just high enough and I want them for my closet. Then she goes casual with a tee and jeans. Boots are the comfy shoes of autumn/winter. Kind of like how flats are slippers are for summer.

Mandy Moore in a tiger-print golden dress [left] and 3.1 Phillip Lim [right].

The gold mini with its unexpected print is just stunning. The beautiful neckline also adds interest to an impeccably styled look. She paired everything with classic black Louboutins and a simple blazers. Blazers are truly a girl's best friend. They go with everything. At the complete opposite end Mandy decided to wear a Grecian one-shoulder gown. Her hair is soft and totally compliments her delicate outfit.

I really recommend you watch Tangled. Especially if you've already seen The Deathly Hallows twice [or seven times]. Or if you have little ones [brothers, sisters, daughters, sons] they'll enjoy it. Flynn [the prince charming of this film] has a larger role to attract the interest of little boys and has a secret. Gasp! So I'll talk to you guys later. Bye! :)

Gwyneth Paltrow's Big Interview with Chlesea

Gwyneth has been making headlines. And not the way most celebrities do. No stumbling out of night clubs. No good girl behaving badly. She performed at the CMA's promoting her new movie, Country Strong. Then she made a guest appearance on Glee [which i loved!], and now she was on Chelsea Lately's Big Interview Special with Anne Hathaway and Xtina.

Gwyneth Paltrow in silk top, black shorts, and Emilio Pucci shoes [left]. Gwyneth in a Stella McCartney blazer and military cropped pants [right].

Who said that short weren't stylish? Well, obviously that person has never seen Gwyneth Paltrow rock them. She picks a dark color-short with a light lavender top. The top is baggy to contrast with Gwyneth's long legs. And those black strappy heels are to die for!

Stella McCartney has a way with separates. And this sand blazer looks great with her military inspired cropped pants. Most of you know that I'm a big sucker for anything military inspired. I love army green as a neutral. Her hair is always styled to perfection but I'd love to mention that her shoes are so unique. With the wide, white band across the front. So pretty.

Gwyneth Paltrow in Louis Vuitton [left] and Calvin Klein Collection [right].

LV. I have been and always will be in love with Louis Vuitton. I love the dress itself. Its stunning with the subtle sparkles and tear-drop shaped whole in the front. That is so unique and cutting edge. Not adoring Gwyneth's sleeked back hair but I understand that she was taking a risk. And I applaud her on that.

Next this citrus colored mini is so chic. I love short dress with long sleeves. In my mind its a classic way to look professional without looking hoochy. She paired them with subtle heels that are meant to accessorize not steal the show. A very smart move.

First, let me say that Gwyneth's interview with Chelsea Handler was hilarious. I loved it when Gwyneth was talking about how her daughter talks in a British accent when she's with friends but is completely American with the family. Apple sounds adorable! Just watch the interview below!

Kate Middleton's Street Style

The last time I posted about the famous Kate Middleton it was extremely well-received among my readers. And so I figured that it was about time to highlight Kate's classy yet simplistic style. And now the couple have officially set the date! April 29, 2011. If you have plans, then cancel.
__
People have been buzzing non-stop over the future Princess Catherine of Wales. From the outside looking in, Kate's relationship with Prince William appears like a fairy-tale come true. It probably isn't as idyllic as all that but the couple seems genuinely happy together.

There has been much talk about alleged 'counseling' sessions meant to prepare Kate for the stressful future as the future Queen of England. Although none of this has been confirmed by Kate or the royal family. Kate is also supposed to attend etiquette classes to help her learn all of the archaic rules and regulations that a place of royalty requires. But I'm she picked up a thing or two in the eight years she's been seeing Prince William.

And just in case you wanted a replica of Princess Diana's/Kate Middleton's engagement ring, QVC has made one available only less than a week after the couple's announcement. Impressive, right? Would you buy one? Answer below in the comments! Wedding details should be released as the date gets closer.

Speaking about famous Brits, I am going to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One on Saturday. So of course on Friday and Saturday I'll to publish Harry Potter themed posts. But no promises. For those of you who have seen it, what did you think?

Zoe Saldana Shines in Grey

Zoe Saldana loves grey. Or at least it seems that way from how often she wears it. But you can't exactly blame the girl because she it looks great on her. Zoe is a true American style icon. Is there ever a time when she doesn't look utterly fabulous? [the answer to that is no].

And she's not just a fashionista, she's a serious actress. Avatar. Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. Drumline. Star Trek.

Zoe in MaxMara [left] and RM by Roland Mouret [left].

These looks are polar opposites. One is short, flirty, and light. While the other is long, sophisticated, and structured. But even though they're opposites, Zoe still pulls of each outfit with confidence. She is not a one trick pony. It seems like her bag of tricks is never ending and I'm always impressed. That mermaid gown is a true red carpet moment. Adore.

Zoe Saldana in Herve Leger [left] and Calvin Klein [right].

Both the Calvin and Leger look are body-skimming but Zoe looks gorgeous in both. One is minimalistic and the other is very intricate and technique-driven. Herve Leger is known for their ground-breaking wrap dresses and Zoe's look is a twist on a classic wrap. But what I really love are those shoes in her Calvin look. Their geometric and sculptural. That is art. [sounds corny. i know. i know.] I want them. :) Sigh. If only...

Today's post was really short. Sorry. I'm off to babysit. :)

Lights, Cameron, Action!

Cameron Diaz is a silver-screen goddess. The movies that she's starred in seem countless. The Holiday. There's Something About Mary. The Shrek Movies. Charlie's Angels.

She works with stylist, Rachel Zoe, and her style is completely effortless. She is the fashion envy of countless women across America. As well as being the fantasy of countless men across the country.

Cameron Diaz in Stella McCartney [left] and Victoria Beckham [left].

Cameron in Stella McCartney's silver sweater dress equals a total fashion moment. It is a shimmery vision of beauty. There is nothing I would change. Her hair is sleek pulled back from her face. She doesn't need long flowy hair to look stunning. Her simple black pumps are classic and clean lined. No accessories are needed. This dress is perfect by itself.

Victoria Beckham, British fashion icon, knows how to dress women. This nude sheath fits Cameron's body like a glove. It is tailored to perfection. Cameron's nude shoes creates a mono-chromatic look. Most of the viewers on The Late Show with David Lettermen have little to no interest in fashion and there is no need to distract them with a decadent dress. She knows what the main stream media will appreciate. :)

Cameron Diaz in black and blue print tunic [left] Bottega Veneta [right].

The bright color of this cobalt blue dress is a stunning contrast to her fair skin and blonde hair. Her eyes just seem to pop. The print is subtle but adds interest to the look. She decided to wear simple makeup with little to no drama. Her black ankle booties are chunky and strong. A much better choice than a delicate sandal or pump.

White is the perfect color. It is neutral but unlike black, which is very slimming but it tends blend into the background, white makes a woman stand out. It is a classic color that is timeless. And Cameron looks beyond in this Bottega Veneta mini. Her black belt is a great contrast to her dress. Her simple hair works together with her simple, but stunning, dress to create the perfect red carpet moment.

Another post done! :) Who would you like to see on this blog? Any suggestions? :) Leave them in the comments below.

Love, Drugs, and Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway is the star of the new film called Love and Other Drugs. Hence the title. :) The movie will be in theathers in time for Thanksgiving weekend. I'm excited. But the more important question is are you? Another equally important question: what look is your favorite?

Anne Hathaway in Valentino [left] and a fitted blazer over navy blue top [right].

The Valentino gown. The Valentino gown. Sigh. That dress is the perfect princess dress. I would not change a thing. Anne has played many princesses in her time but she's never looked more the part, than right here. The loose hair is fun and young but because it is pushed behind her shoulders, all the attention is on how beautiful that gown is. A stunning red carpet moment.

I picked two extremes. Ultimate glamour and totally casual. The navy blazer fits her in all the places it should. That is the mark of a great tailor. She is walking somewhere witha  purpose and she looks amazing. Those flats are the perfect mix of comfort and fashion--not exactly the easiest thing to do.

Anne Hathaway in Marchesa [left] and in J Brand [right].

Marchesa. The brand for glamour, fun, and beautiful details. Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig are masters of making gowns that make an impact on camera and in real life. They know how to make a woman look and feel sexy. That blue color is so vibrant and is such a great contrast with her bold, red lipstick. Brava Anne! :)

Next, another casual look. On some level I like casual looks better than red carpet looks. They give me ideas about what I want to put in my own closet, although don't get me wrong--I love the fantasy of the red carpet. But that's all it is fantasy. Most woman will never get the chance to wear a Marchesa gown to a movie premiere but we can always hope, can't we? In this look Anne is sleek, modern and totally put together.

I don't think I mentioned this earlier but Jake Gyllenhaal  is her co-star in Love and Other Drugs. Click here to check out the trailer. On another more somber note, I'd like to thank all those who have or are serving in the armed forces. Your sacrafice is appreciated. And thank you to all the families of those serving in the armed forces. I hope you have a nice Veteran's Day.

Rumor has it that Blake Lively...

Blake is known for playing the super-sweet, incredibly beutiful blonde. The one that everyone hates [even if its just a little bit] because she's just too perfect. There was Bridget Vreeland in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and Serena Van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl.

But while she has taken movie and TV by storm, she is a star in the world of fashion. Her long blonde hair and charismatic smile seem to sparkle in a photgraph. She looks great in almost anything she puts on. If only everyone could be as lucky. :)

Blake Lively in Christian Dior [left] and Matthew Williamson [right].

That bright magenta color photgraphs beautifully. It is a color that looks great on most skin-tones--and Blake looks beautiful. The leather jacket keeps the Dior dress from looking too girly or frou-frou. It adds a bit of edge to the look. The only way to make this outfit better, was if the background had been any color other than black. Blake's entire lower half blend into the background.

This is casual chic! She looks ready to go shopping or countless other day-time activities. The blue leather skirt is an unexpected color for such a fabric. Then she picks the perfect top. It is a print to add interest to the outfit but the colors aren't matchy-matchy. The pulled back hair highlights Blake's natural beauty. Her simple makeup is perfect for the day.

Blake Lively in Elie Saab [left] and Lanvin [right].

Blake sparkles in that playful Elie Saab look. The cut-outs are both edgy and young. This woman is so incrediably photogentic and this look shows off her amazing legs. Simple black pumps and black nails finish of the look with effortless simplicity.

Next, Blake is wearing a look straight from the runway. She wore the look as it was in the show. Harness, broach, and everything. The dress is very fashion-forward and needs no touseled hair to distract from the craftsmanship of the look. The long slit is very sexy with glimpses of leg as she walks. Add chunky bangles and shoes to balance out the draping of the skirt, and the look is complete.

Gossip Girl this season is really good. So much better than last season. I love Clemence Poesy. She was amazing as Eva. I want Blair and Chuck to get back together but I can't get over how douch-ey Chuck was when he sold Blair for his hotel. Jeezz...boys. Are you watching Gossip Girl? [you should. jk!]

Bella's Wedding Dress for Breaking Dawn?

There has been much buzz about what Kristen will be wearing when Bella says "I do." And who-ever gets the honor of designing the gown, will be adored--or hated--by Twi-Hards around the world. :) But then again, they say that no publilcity is bad publicity.

Well, a few designers have shared their ideas about how they would dress Bella for the big day. The above look was created by Christian Siriano. Which look is your favorite?

Monique Lhuillier

Max Azria

Erin Featherston

I don't know if they're right for Bella, but from a personal standpoint those are my faves. :) Tell me your thoughts below! I want to hear from you. [even if you hate Twilight]

Carey Mulligan Sparkles

Carey Mulligan was nomited for an Academy Award for her role in An Education last year. This year she starred alongside Keira Knightley and Andrew Garfield drama, Never Let Me Go.

Trivia Question: Who did Carey Mulligan play in the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice? If you know this--without using the Internet--I will be very impressed.

Carey Mulligan is dressed in a mustard chiffon dress [left] and vintage Prada [right].

I have to admit that I prefer Carey's hair with a slight wave to her short hair. It adds texture and demension. I also perfer her with that carefree smile on her face. It doesn't appear forced but like a moment of pure happiness. She has a great style. But on another note that pleated mustard dress is to die for. It hits her at the right spot on the knee and skims her body.

Then that Prada dress is structured and the perfect summer dress. The print is nostalgic. The color from the print seems to almost match her lip color perfectly. The fitted belt draws in her waist and the nude shoes give the illusion that she is taller. Very impresed. :)

Carey Mulligan in RM by Roland Mouret and Fendi shoes. Carey in Elie Saab.

When I first noticed Carey, I was quickly impressed with her super-chic British style. I'm in love with British style--its just so different from American fashion. Both of these looks are rather sub-dued but the punch comes for the details rather than the bold color. The Mouret garmet fits her body like a glove and the proportions are perfection. She appears confident and professional. Those Fendi cut-out shoes balance the geometic inspiration from the garment.

Then there is the Elie Saab piece. Elie Saab is known for elegance and femininity. The sheer skirt almost appears like fringe. Or is it? I can't tell. Carey paired the look with simple black pumps, in an effort not to draw any attention from the delicate bodice--its lace is both sexy and classy at the same time.

I really want to see Never Let Me Go. What did you think of Carey's style? If you want more Viva la Fashion become a fan on Facebook for up to the minute updates. You will get updates whenever a new post is published. Talk to you guys soon! :D
