A Chic Holiday

As some of you might know, Elizabeth and James is one of my favorite lines. If that name sounds kind of similar you may also know it as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's fashion line.

I know many of you just cringed. But despite what you say about the movies that they make (although personally I grew up on those movies and I loved them. I was the biggest Mary-Kate and Ashley fan growing up.) these girls have a totally unique style.

I love this brand. And even though I can't afford most of the garmets. I still like to look. :)

Anyway, the Holiday Collection has come out and here of the highlights in my opinion.

Anyway, I'm super excited. I don't feel that this Holiday collection is as strong as their Fall one but I still think that they have some really gorgeous garmets.

Fashionistas on Film

When I was younger movies and magazines were my inspiration for fashion. Well, in truth to some extent they still are. I am a lover of movies. And a lover of fashion and so it only makes sense for me to create a Fashionistas of Film post.

Legally Blonde: We all remember her spunk. Her Style. And her huge pink wardrobe. She took over Harvard Law and found the love of her life, while not losing herself. :) This is one of my all time favorite chick flicks. :D

The Devil Wears Prada: Not only is Anne Hathaway one of my favorite actresses, but her wardrobe in this movie was flawless. It was like a fantasy. :) The first time I watched it, I spent most of the movie drooling over every shoe, purse, or dress. *sigh* It was amazing.

Confessions of a Shopaholic: This movie was so funny. :) Isla was so funny as the adorable Rebecca Bloowood. She is the extreme that all shopaholics hope to never reach. But she does it with such style and spark! Her style was a little over the top sometimes but I think it adds to the film. Loved it! :)

Change is Good

Just a quick Thanksgiving update. :)

Viva La Fashion got a face lift. I think it looks more...sophisticated? Hmmm....I don't know. What do you guys think. Please be honest. After all you guys have to look at it just as often as I do. :)

What do you think of the new blog? I really mean it. Be honest! Please Share your thoughts and follow! :D

P.S. This has got to be the shortest blog I've ever written. Ok, I have to go and help my mom with the cooking. And I promise to have more fashion related blogs up. I've been slacking in that area. My bad. :)

Happy Thanksgiving! Yay! :D

Turkey Day!

You knew this post was coming. I had to do it. As I looked back on this past year I realize that I've had a really great year. I mean nothing amazing happened, but nothing horrible happened either.

The year was long and at times I struggled but I eventually overcame any obstacles. I realize I have much to be thankful for. :)

This year I'm thankful for...

A healthy year for my family and friends. :) And the people who take the time to read what I have to say on this blog.

This year I'm thankful for so much. I'd like to say thank you again to all the people who are reading this. :D

Have a great Thanksgiving! Eat lots of great food!

Size Twelve Is Not Fat

This weekend, between shopping and going to see New Moon. ( I loved it). But I finished reading, Size 12 Is Not Fat by Meg Cabot. Meg Cabot is the woman who wrote the Princess Diaries Series. What made me pick this up was because I adored the Princess Diaries books and movie [Anne Hathaway was brilliant] when I was in elementary school and I was feeling a bit nostalgic on that particular day.

Within the first thirty pages I remembered why I loved those Princess Diaries books so much. Meg Cabot is incredibly funny! Humor is harder to convey through ink and paper but somehow this woman manages to make me smile or CQTM [chuckle quietly to myself]. But this book is aimed towards a more mature audience. Yes, I'm at that point in my life where I can read mature material.

Here's a brief synopsis, without being a spoiler. Its about Heather Mills, a burned out teen pop sensation, who is trying to pull her life together after her musical career has become almost non-existent and she has gained a bit of weight--she's now a size twelve. Heather decides to take a job as an assistant dorm director at a local college in NYC and this is where the drama starts.

A string of murders start to occur at the dorms and Heather finds herself becoming an amateur sleuth. [drama, right?] But while she's trying to find out why all these people are dying--and probably most importantly, who's killing them--she has to deal with her romantic feelings towards her house-mate and her obnoxious, but kid of cute, old boyfriend.

I think of Heather Mills as a modern day Nancy Drew--but funnier and more relatable. This book has humor, mystery, suspense, romance, and even more humor. The ending--and the killer--caught me off guard. I didn't even think about him. But then again, I've never really been good at mysteries no matter how many episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation I watch or how how many games of CLUE I try to win.

The pages fly by really quickly and its leaves the reader wanting more. Thankfully two sequels have already been published. Size 14 is Not Fat Either and Big Boned. I'm heading out to Borders as soon as I finish writing this to pick a copy of both.

____ If you've read this book, please leave your thoughts in the comments! Also leave any suggestions below! Please follow this blog through Google Friend Finder! Link to the right. Thank you for reading and I'll see you guys soon.

This Mysterious Man

Lately, it seems like every magazine is doing something to do with New Moon. But let's face it, New Moon is a phenomenon and its not going away any time soon. My friend is obsessed with Robert Pattinson, well, maybe not obsessed, but she wouldn't mind it he never wore another shirt again. :)

Anyway, Robert is on the cover of Vanity Fair. (She was very excited.) But from what she tells me there was only like three-five pictures of Robert in the magazine. She says, "The cutest guy in Hollywood, besides David Beckham, deserves more than four pictures. Ugh."

I'm sure an eye roll was included somewhere in there. But I'm not quite sure...

Even though she was exagerating, there were more than four Robert pics, she still craved for more. :)

But, if you guys don't know this, I love photos. But I hate it when magazines get lazy and recycle pictures. I think its so much fun to just take pictures. Hey, maybe I have a future in photography? I just have to convince my parents to buy me a better camrea. :)

I, please don't hate me, don't see what everyone sees in Robert. :) He's okay, but he's not the ideal man. Or at least, not in my opinion. But in these pictures, he looks nice. He doesn't look greasy; he looks really nice!

Even if he does look a little broody. :)

Dakota Fanning: Belle of the Ball

I got my Teen Vogue this weekend. The cover girl was Dakota Fanning. Let me tell you...she is so grown up. I mean I remember when she was in movies like The Cat in the Hat, Sam I Am, and Uptown Girls. She seemed like the little girl who'd never grow up.

For some reason I always figured she was so much younger than me. But I turns out that we're the same age. Well, I'm a year older but it seemed like there was a huge age gap. :)

Anyway, I saw her spread in Teen Vogue and I thought it was stunning. Maybe I'm just so excited for New Moon to come out this weekend. Eeek! :) I'm super excited. And yes, I'm a Twilight Fan. Not freak because I'm waiting til Saturday to watch it. :) So, yes, I have some self control. Although maybe its because all the midnight tickets were sold out.

:) Anyway, I'm going with all my friends and its going to be so much fun. :)

Sorry, back to Dakota's spread in TV. It was so pretty. I really liked this one. Although I tend to like most of the spreads in TV. It's a lot more fashion-y that Seventeen (After all did anyone notice that they cut and pasted Kristin Stewart's picture on the cover last month?)
.

Anyway, I loved the fashion in this shoot. :) It was stunning. Sorry, if my posts for the next couple days are kind of New Moon based. :)

What did you think? Are you looking forward to New Moon?

Baby It's Cold Outside

This past Friday, my town had its first experience with hail. I was not excited especially since I have to park about ten minute walk from the school building. :( It was not a fun experience. Especially since that day I decided to wear my super cute black pea coat (with no hood).

But enough complaining, you guys don't want to hear about that. With the drop in temperature comes my excuse to buy coats. I love coats. And I mean coats, not jackets.

I bought a black pea coat for school shopping but I now see that I might need one more. Do you guys have any suggestions about where I could get a really nice one for a reasonable price?

I love winter not just because of the snow and snow days, but because i think scarves, mittens, gloves, and coats are so cute. :)

Do you guys know where I can get a really great coat? Please Comment and Follow! :D

Forgetful Haul

Well, this really isn't a haul. Its more of what I got for my super, super belated birthday. Do any of you have parents who buy you birthday gifts months in advance but then forget to give them to you on your birthday?

Well, that's my mother. :) But I love her despite her forgetfulness. <3>

Ok. So here's the haul. Its not that big but I liked the stuff I got. :)

Stephenie Meyer's The Host. I am so excited. I used to be totally anti-Twilight but then I read the books and fell in love (the movie wasn't so great). So since I've run out of Twilight books to read, I figure I can move onto The Host. My friend says it was a good book, but I don't know. :)

A cute necklace from Pac Sun. It kind of reminds me of something I saw at Forever 21. :)

A basic grey cardigan from this new store in my mall called Papaya. I've been inside but I don't own anything from there other than this cardigan. A lot of their stuff seems cute though. :)

And finally a blue floral T-shirt from Forever 21. *sigh* I love getting new clothes. :)

Color Splash

My favorite color is purple. :) I've loved it since before I can remember and I contune to love it to this day. (I just no longer have a purple backpack, binder, pencil, pants, shirts, bedspread, etc.)

Anyway, when Nik (please check out her blog) color tagged me I was so ready to show my purple collection to the world. :) As I wandered around my house I finally realized how many purple things I posessed.

Basically I had to find and photograph 7 purple things in my house. Hmmmm....I think I'm up to the challege. So here it goes....

1. Purple Bubble Top from F21. :)

2. My stuffed elephant dubbed "Humphries". He's just chilling on my bed.

3. My purple contact holder. Use them everyday. :)

5. Purple Fleece Blankets that my mom keeps in her car just in case it breaks down. Not quite sure why its in the house. If you look closely you can see Humphries hanging out in the background. :)

6. Purple Luffa (I'm sorry if I'm spelling this wrong). Looking at this picture it looks a little tattered and I think I might need a new one. :)

7. A 3/4 sleeve shirt from Aeropostale. Nothing really special about it except...well, it was the second purple shirt I could grab. :)

Now Nik tagged me a really long time ago. Sorry for taking so long to finally do it. :) But I now tag anyone who wants to do it. It really is one of the funner tags I've done in a while.

What is your favorite color? Please Comment and Follow! :D

These Are My Confessions

Glee. It's not just an emotion, its now a show on FOX.
To be honest I've only seen three episodes but I find myself fascinated with this strange, high school musical-ish tv series. In the first episode I watched, the boys and girls faced off in a competion where both groups performed mash-ups.

(apparently "a mash-up is when you take two songs and mash them together to create an even richer explosion of musical expression")But I'm not a choir/glee club person and thus I didn't know this.

The show is not meant to be realistic but I still like it. :)

Anyway, back to the "mash-up". I think the boys killed it. I loved their mash-up of "It's My Life" and "Confessions Part II".

Viva La Perfume

Juicy Couture. The thought of stepping into one of those store makes me smile. :)

And while I might not be able to buy a juicy couture jump suit in every color, I saved up my money to buy the scents, Viva La Juicy and Juicy Couture.

I don't know if anyone knows I am obsessed with perfumes and body sprays. *sigh* When the package came in the mail I was so excited. I was short on money and so I bought the smallest size available in Juicy Couture.

But my sister bought Viva La Juicy and once I smelled it, I knew I wanted the bigger size. (Fun Fact: This is what I named my blog after.) So I splurged a little...and got the 3.4 oz. I think that's how much liquid it holds but please correct me if I'm wrong.

According to the Juicy Couture website, Viva La Juicy is supposed to smell like wild berries and mandarins. I don't know if that's what it smells like (but hey, I'm no smell expert). But let me tell you it smells sooo good. I highly recommend it.

I also got Juicy Couture but in the smaller container. I'm kind of regretting not getting a bigger size but I only had so much money to spend. :) I looked on the website to tell you guys what it was supposed to smell like, just to give you guys s refrence, but even I was confused.

Juicy Couture says that its supposed to be a watermelon, green apple, crushed leaves, hyacinth, vinalla, and like ten other smells mashed together. But don't let this fool you, it smells so good. :)

The next perfume I plan on buying is Michael Kor's Very Hollywood. I've talked about this one before and I still love it. It'll be a long time before I buy another perfume that expensive though...since I just spent A LOT of money on the ones from Juicy Couture.

*sigh* Oh, well. :) I think they were worth it. All those hours of babysitting...

What are your favorite perfumes? Do you like Viva La Juicy, Very Hollywood, or Juicy Couture? Please Comment and Follow! :D
