A New Year

Happy New Year eveybody!! I can't believe its almost 2010. :D

Wow. This year has been amazing for me. I got my drivers license. I started a blog. I made the tennis team. I started my junior year in high school.

I just know that next year will be even better. :) Oh, I'm soooo exctied. Sorry this is a short post. My mom is about to start making dinner and I think she might need some help.

Just thought I'd check in with all of you lovely ladies (and men. I'm not quite sure who reads my blog) and wish you all a happy New Year. :D

Want Her Wardrobe

So, I was thinking about doing a blog post every month I'll post my fashion inspirations, I guess. I'm not quite sure how I'll pick each one but I think it'll be fun.

For the month of December I decided to choose Lauren Conrad. She's so fun to try and emulate. She has great style and I loved her signature "Lauren Conrad Braid".

Anyway, here are a few pictures and reasons why I love her style. :)

Winter Wonderland

The latest episode of 90210 sees the group attending the Winter Wonderland Dance. And let me tell you, I've been to a couple school dances and they were nothing like this one. :)

I know that this is a show about a group of kids from Beverly Hills, a very rich group of kids, but I want my dances to be like this one. *sigh* If only my school had the budget. :)

But, not only did I love the decorations but I loved the fact that people ACUTALLY dressed to theme. And I thought everone looked smashing. :D

Here a few pics of the cast in the dresses they wore. I thought Annie and Naomi's dresses were amazing. :D

This was an intense episode and I think that 90210 was a much better remake than Melrose Place, but hey, that's just my opinion. :D These pictures just get me in the holiday spirit!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!! :D

Did this conjure up any memories from any high school dances? Do you watch this episode? Please Comment and Follow!:D

For the Love of Taylor

Taylor Swift is on the December cover of InStyle. I think Taylor is amazing. I really did enjoy reading the article about Taylor, and I totally loved it when she said that she loved girls who could rock curly hair. I have curly hair, even if i wear it down and straight.

She is one of the few, and by few I think I really mean the only country signer I really listen to. I love the songs, "Love Story" and "You Belong With Me". She's just amazing in my opinion. :)

Anyway, here are some pictures from her photospread in InStyle. :)

Life In the Comfy Lane

Comfort is key when I sleep. :) And I have to say the sleepwear/hoodies that I'm loving the most at this moment is VS Pink.

I went to Pink during the Black Friday sales. And their stuff was so cute. Later that day I went online to check out all of their stuff and I fell in love with their collegiate series. They have the cutest stuff. The hoodies are adorable. :)

These sleeping shorts are so comfy but I think I'll save them for summer time because it's starting to get a little too cold to sleep in shorts. Instead I'm wearing my thick fleece pjs. Attractive, I know. ;D

I really needed to pick up some sweats, because when I go running outside it is just too cold to go in shorts. My other sweatpants are starting to get worn. So I figured I'd pick up new ones. At first I couldn't decide between the Stanford sweats (Not that I could hope to go there, I just really like their colors and it would be my dream school.) or the Auburn sweats (this school is more realistic. Plus my Dad would be so happy if I went there).

I finally decided to get the Auburn one. :)
But I was really disappointed that they didn't have any gear for UH. It's my mom's Alma mater and I figured I could pick up something for her. But they didn't have ANYTHING. Not a single shirt or sweatshirt.

That was a big bummer. :( But I still love the stuff. :) It's so cute.

What do you think of VS Pink? Please Comment and Follow! :D

PS. My cat is wailing right now and she sounds like she's about to die. *sigh* Oh, Zoey. My little Drama Queen. :) Thanks for reading.

Love is the Music

I am a firm believer that music transforms a mood. I am also a hopeful wisher, waiting for the day when music will play in the backgroud of my life. But I don't think that that will happen any time soon.

I just recently watched He's Just Not That Into You and suddenly I was in the mood for romance. It's not February yet but I thought I'd do a post about the songs that are currently being played over and over again on my iTunes. :)

Somehwere Only We Know
This song immeadiately transports me to the scene where Alex finally confesses his love for GiGi. It's one of the cutest scenes in He's Just Not That Into You. I'm sorry if this is a spoiler for you but it's a romantic/comedy/dramatic movie, there was bound to be a happy ending somewhere. But I love this song. I can't say enough how much I love it! :D

Love, Save the Empty
This song isn't romantic in the sense that it talks about happy endings or anything but it was on the He's Just Not That Into Soundtrack. *shrug* What can I say? It talks about failed relationships and that's my romantic connection. It's a great song. :)

Friday, I'm in Love
Ok, it's my last song from the He's Just Not That Into You Soundtrack. But in my defense I knew about this song long before that movie came out. Its just a fun song to listen to and isn't a very serious song with a much deeper meaning (or at least none that I know of. Maybe its so deep I just don't get it. Hmmmm....) But who doesn't love a good The Cure song?

Love Remains the Same
Who knew that Gavin Rossdale minus Bush would be so entertaining? Ok, I'll admit that I was rooting for Gavin but I wasn't expecting a song like this one. It's amazing. I'm sorry I think I need to learn how to describe music better because I'm obviously not doing a very good job. Let's just say I really, really like this song. :)

Ok, I'll stop with four songs. These are on a playlist and I'm playing them over and over. :) I just can't stop. Somewhere Only We Know just makes my toes curl and somehow plasters a goofy, love-sick smile on my face.

Hey, what can I say? I'm a romantic at heart. :)

P.S. Can you tell I really liked this movie? ;D

All Stars

Let me admit it. I have those mornings when I look at the clock and I fall back to sleep. Those days where I just want to sleep or I'm just too lazy to care about what I wear. I have those days when I just throw on a pair of jeans, a hoodie, and a pair of converse.

When it comes to non-athletic sneakers, converse are my favorite. :) I'm a huge fan. I have them in black, blue, and purple. (Its weird that those colors put together are the colors of bruise. Hmmmm....weird) Anyway, they're just so comfy and especially when its cold outside, I pile on about two socks and face the cold with my converse.

I love seeing celebrities with their converse and here are a couple wearing their converse with pride. Lauren Conrad (love her!), Ashlee Simpson, and Miley Cyrus. Enjoy! :D

Golden Girl

Last night I was watching Gossip Girl. I think that Blake Lively is a beautiful girl and I think she's a really great actress. (Although I really am a Blair fan) I was watching and I remembered the spread I saw in Nylon a little while ago.

She's so much fun and I loved her in Sister of the Traveling Pants. These pictures are really pretty and so I thought to share them with you guys. :D

This is kind of related but not really. Am I the only one who likes Blair and Chuck together because none of the friends I've talked to like it. I think they're perfect for each other, in a strange evil kind of way.

Sorry for the random tangent but I was just wondering. :)

P.S. I really like her jacket. :)

A Chic Holiday

As some of you might know, Elizabeth and James is one of my favorite lines. If that name sounds kind of similar you may also know it as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's fashion line.

I know many of you just cringed. But despite what you say about the movies that they make (although personally I grew up on those movies and I loved them. I was the biggest Mary-Kate and Ashley fan growing up.) these girls have a totally unique style.

I love this brand. And even though I can't afford most of the garmets. I still like to look. :)

Anyway, the Holiday Collection has come out and here of the highlights in my opinion.

Anyway, I'm super excited. I don't feel that this Holiday collection is as strong as their Fall one but I still think that they have some really gorgeous garmets.

Fashionistas on Film

When I was younger movies and magazines were my inspiration for fashion. Well, in truth to some extent they still are. I am a lover of movies. And a lover of fashion and so it only makes sense for me to create a Fashionistas of Film post.

Legally Blonde: We all remember her spunk. Her Style. And her huge pink wardrobe. She took over Harvard Law and found the love of her life, while not losing herself. :) This is one of my all time favorite chick flicks. :D

The Devil Wears Prada: Not only is Anne Hathaway one of my favorite actresses, but her wardrobe in this movie was flawless. It was like a fantasy. :) The first time I watched it, I spent most of the movie drooling over every shoe, purse, or dress. *sigh* It was amazing.

Confessions of a Shopaholic: This movie was so funny. :) Isla was so funny as the adorable Rebecca Bloowood. She is the extreme that all shopaholics hope to never reach. But she does it with such style and spark! Her style was a little over the top sometimes but I think it adds to the film. Loved it! :)

Change is Good

Just a quick Thanksgiving update. :)

Viva La Fashion got a face lift. I think it looks more...sophisticated? Hmmm....I don't know. What do you guys think. Please be honest. After all you guys have to look at it just as often as I do. :)

What do you think of the new blog? I really mean it. Be honest! Please Share your thoughts and follow! :D

P.S. This has got to be the shortest blog I've ever written. Ok, I have to go and help my mom with the cooking. And I promise to have more fashion related blogs up. I've been slacking in that area. My bad. :)

Happy Thanksgiving! Yay! :D

Turkey Day!

You knew this post was coming. I had to do it. As I looked back on this past year I realize that I've had a really great year. I mean nothing amazing happened, but nothing horrible happened either.

The year was long and at times I struggled but I eventually overcame any obstacles. I realize I have much to be thankful for. :)

This year I'm thankful for...

A healthy year for my family and friends. :) And the people who take the time to read what I have to say on this blog.

This year I'm thankful for so much. I'd like to say thank you again to all the people who are reading this. :D

Have a great Thanksgiving! Eat lots of great food!

Size Twelve Is Not Fat

This weekend, between shopping and going to see New Moon. ( I loved it). But I finished reading, Size 12 Is Not Fat by Meg Cabot. Meg Cabot is the woman who wrote the Princess Diaries Series. What made me pick this up was because I adored the Princess Diaries books and movie [Anne Hathaway was brilliant] when I was in elementary school and I was feeling a bit nostalgic on that particular day.

Within the first thirty pages I remembered why I loved those Princess Diaries books so much. Meg Cabot is incredibly funny! Humor is harder to convey through ink and paper but somehow this woman manages to make me smile or CQTM [chuckle quietly to myself]. But this book is aimed towards a more mature audience. Yes, I'm at that point in my life where I can read mature material.

Here's a brief synopsis, without being a spoiler. Its about Heather Mills, a burned out teen pop sensation, who is trying to pull her life together after her musical career has become almost non-existent and she has gained a bit of weight--she's now a size twelve. Heather decides to take a job as an assistant dorm director at a local college in NYC and this is where the drama starts.

A string of murders start to occur at the dorms and Heather finds herself becoming an amateur sleuth. [drama, right?] But while she's trying to find out why all these people are dying--and probably most importantly, who's killing them--she has to deal with her romantic feelings towards her house-mate and her obnoxious, but kid of cute, old boyfriend.

I think of Heather Mills as a modern day Nancy Drew--but funnier and more relatable. This book has humor, mystery, suspense, romance, and even more humor. The ending--and the killer--caught me off guard. I didn't even think about him. But then again, I've never really been good at mysteries no matter how many episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation I watch or how how many games of CLUE I try to win.

The pages fly by really quickly and its leaves the reader wanting more. Thankfully two sequels have already been published. Size 14 is Not Fat Either and Big Boned. I'm heading out to Borders as soon as I finish writing this to pick a copy of both.

____ If you've read this book, please leave your thoughts in the comments! Also leave any suggestions below! Please follow this blog through Google Friend Finder! Link to the right. Thank you for reading and I'll see you guys soon.

This Mysterious Man

Lately, it seems like every magazine is doing something to do with New Moon. But let's face it, New Moon is a phenomenon and its not going away any time soon. My friend is obsessed with Robert Pattinson, well, maybe not obsessed, but she wouldn't mind it he never wore another shirt again. :)

Anyway, Robert is on the cover of Vanity Fair. (She was very excited.) But from what she tells me there was only like three-five pictures of Robert in the magazine. She says, "The cutest guy in Hollywood, besides David Beckham, deserves more than four pictures. Ugh."

I'm sure an eye roll was included somewhere in there. But I'm not quite sure...

Even though she was exagerating, there were more than four Robert pics, she still craved for more. :)

But, if you guys don't know this, I love photos. But I hate it when magazines get lazy and recycle pictures. I think its so much fun to just take pictures. Hey, maybe I have a future in photography? I just have to convince my parents to buy me a better camrea. :)

I, please don't hate me, don't see what everyone sees in Robert. :) He's okay, but he's not the ideal man. Or at least, not in my opinion. But in these pictures, he looks nice. He doesn't look greasy; he looks really nice!
__
Even if he does look a little broody. :)

Dakota Fanning: Belle of the Ball

I got my Teen Vogue this weekend. The cover girl was Dakota Fanning. Let me tell you...she is so grown up. I mean I remember when she was in movies like The Cat in the Hat, Sam I Am, and Uptown Girls. She seemed like the little girl who'd never grow up.

For some reason I always figured she was so much younger than me. But I turns out that we're the same age. Well, I'm a year older but it seemed like there was a huge age gap. :)

Anyway, I saw her spread in Teen Vogue and I thought it was stunning. Maybe I'm just so excited for New Moon to come out this weekend. Eeek! :) I'm super excited. And yes, I'm a Twilight Fan. Not freak because I'm waiting til Saturday to watch it. :) So, yes, I have some self control. Although maybe its because all the midnight tickets were sold out.

:) Anyway, I'm going with all my friends and its going to be so much fun. :)

Sorry, back to Dakota's spread in TV. It was so pretty. I really liked this one. Although I tend to like most of the spreads in TV. It's a lot more fashion-y that Seventeen (After all did anyone notice that they cut and pasted Kristin Stewart's picture on the cover last month?)
.

Anyway, I loved the fashion in this shoot. :) It was stunning. Sorry, if my posts for the next couple days are kind of New Moon based. :)

What did you think? Are you looking forward to New Moon?
