Style Highlights: Emma Roberts

Emma Roberts is an up-and-coming fashionista. I've written about her in numerous posts before and she keeps impressing me with her sophisticated, yet age appropriate, style. She manages to be trendy but look classic and ageless at the same time. I adore her style and I just recently rented one of her older movies, Wild Child, so look forward to a review on my other channel.

Emma Roberts in Zac Posen [left] and Jenny Packham [right].

This look is very different from what Emma normally wears. It's not the pretty sparkly dress with the classic heel--not that there's anything wrong with that look. I adore that look! But Emma decided to pick a sleek tailored pant, architectural heels, and a sheer printed top and I adore this choice. It's more modern woman than girly-girl. Everybody needs a bit of change now and then. Plus, I adore Zac Posen's work. It's genius!

This is more of Emma Robert's norm. She is known to wear a lot of Jenny Packham because that brand is known for high hemlines and lots of shine. Emma looks beautiful in this silver colored mini. She kept her hair natural--almost as if she just rolled out of bed--and the shoes are nude to make her legs appear longer than they actual are. No jewelry and a simple clutch--the look is done!

I love that electric blue. And the cutouts are so chic. It seems like everyone is wearing cutouts lately. The sheer tights help create continuity and simplicity with a busier print. The lace detailing along the neckline is also so adorable! There really is nothing that I don't love about this look. A+!

While I think Emma looks beautiful in this dress. I do feel like it was made for an older woman. I don't know if its the color or the cut but I think this dress would look STUNNING if it was a different color or if she paired it with an even bolder shoe. I'm glad she went with gold instead of black or grey but it isn't quite there yet. This is more B material. But I love the effort and she doesn't look bad by any stretch of the imagination, it just isn't up to par with other looks I've seen.

Red Carpet Alert!: Velvet Shoes

Velvet shoes. They seem a like an odd accesory but they're the perfect one. I recently got a pair. But I'm not the only one who's been seem out and about sporting them. Ladies like Jessica Alba and Katy Perry are loving the trend. Do you?

Style Highlights: Emma Roberts

Emma Roberts is becoming a fashionista, as well as well known movie star. She hit up shows at both Paris and NY Fashion week and everyone was talking about how effortlessly chic she looked. Which look is your favorite? Please comment below!

Emma Roberts in Michael Kors [left] and Miu Miu [right].

This color looks STUNNING against Emma's skin tone. The pleating is perfection and I adore the retro hemline at Emma's mid-calf. The rest of the look is kept simple with black accessories and nothing more. Emma pulled her hair back but left a simple curl of hair to frame her face.

Sparkle and shine! Emma looks stunning in this cut-out Miu Miu mini. She paired the sparkly dress with unexpected pair of shimmery pink pumps. Remind me of Dorothy's shoes from The Wizard of Oz, but in a different color. So bold. So chic. I adore.

Emma Roberts in Jenny Packham [left] and Chanel [right].

Emma looks sophisticated and sweet in this floor-skimming Jenny Packham gown. This look is all about glitter and glam with its sequins embellishments and low-cutting neckline. She continued on the look of metallics with her stunning over sized clutch and with her grey makeup. So beautiful.

Chanel is always in style. Always. And if this is what Spring 2011 looks like, then I am so excited! Pastels are so beautiful and soft. I love the fringe details on the skirt, at the sleeve, and everywhere! In an effort to keep the look fun Emma paired this flawless dress with modern silver pumps. Simple hair and a chunky clutch completes the look. I love!

Thank you for reading. I'm so grateful to all of my readers. They are the best and I will gladly argue with anyone who says otherwise. I'll be back tomorrow. But until then, please check out my second blog. The number of posts I've published is into the double digits now. So exciting!

Favorite Victoria's Secret Angels!

The Victoria Secret's Fashion Show was on last night. At ten o'clock, two hours later than last year, due to complants from parents that this material is too racy for some younger viewers. Or at least that's what my VS Pink ethusiast sister told me this morning. But whether you loved it or hated it, it was a show-stopping event. Katy Perry was brilliant and all the angels looked amazing. Let's a take a look at some of our favorite angels, past and present.

Chanel Iman in Prabal Gurung [left] and Marc Jacobs [right].

One of the newest additions to the VS runway, Chanel Iman is a pro at walking. She has graced hundreds of runways in Paris, Milan, and New York. She is an all-American girl: born in Atlanta, Gerogia and raised in Los Angelos. But with a name like Chanel, this girl was destined for the fashion world. It was so sweet seeing her get her wings. :)

Miranda Kerr in a printed skirt and button-up top [left] and a bright orange dress [right].

Ms. Miranda Kerr is one of many who are currently part of the fashion baby boom. Her baby, the father being her husband Orlando Bloom, is said to be delivered in January 2011. This Austrailiam beauty is known for her sweet dimples in her cheeks and her long run as a VS model. Unfortunately, Miranda wasn't there to rock the runway. Being pregnant and all.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Burberry [left] and a grey/brown fur coat [right].

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley isn't too  familiar with American audience but that won't last for long. She was chosen to repalce Megan Fox in the popular Tranfsromers series, the latest of which will be blasting into theaters summer 2011. This British beauty has been in ads for Burberry and Victoria's Secret.

Heidi Klum in Jenny Packham [left] and a fitted bedazzled blazer [right].

One of the best known VS models. She's transformed her success on the runway to an even more successful brand. She hosts the ever popular Project Runway on Lifetime. And she and British singer Seal have four children together and Ms. Klum became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 2008. Unforntuately Ms. Klum has retired her wings. But we will miss her.

The lineup of angels doesn't stop there but I don't have the space, nor the time, to list every angel. That would be unrealistic. I picked my faves. Who is your favorite angel? Comment below. I'd love to hear from you!

"Ignite the Light and let it Shine!"

Katy Perry has Kissed a Girl, been a California Gurl, and is many boys' Teenage Dream. But now she's a Firework. Or at least that's what her latest single of her album, Teenage Dream, is. I saw the video and fell in love. And the song isn't that bad either. [jk]

Now, let's a take a look at her fashion. :)

Katy Perry in a sheer print dress [left] and Karl Lagerfeld [right].

This sheer print is not what most people expect Katy Perry to wear. Afterall, she's been sporting Lady Gaga-esque ensembles as of late. But this simple and etherial dress is a nice change of pace. The print is manipulated to perfection and she wisely chose not to chose any accessories that would over power the dress. But, in typical Katy fashion, she threw on a pair of tuquoise pumps.

This is more Katy. It is hard, edgy and structured. The harsh shoulders are fashion-forward and a risk-taker, just like the woman wearing the dress. She smartly chose to pick a pair of shoes that were as sculptural as the dress. They compliment each other. Her sense of humor shines through her bag with Karl Lagerfeld's face on it. Nice choices, Katy.

Katy Perry in a crystal-encrusted bustier dress [left] and Jenny Packham [right].

Next, Katy adds a bold print to the mix. The way the crytsal are applied to the bustier actually creates the illusion that Katy is smaller than she actually is--not that she really needs the help. The print is smartly used; fashion is supposed to make women look their best. The rest of the outfit is pretty monochromatic, letting the fitted top take center stage. But the single accent of sparkle in her mid-arm bangle adds more demension to the outfit without overwhelming the eye.

Katy looks stunning in this Jenny Packham look. It is glamourus--Katy loves to wear things that sparkle and shine. This dress highlights Katy's amazing legs and toned arms. She has an amazing body and she should show it off--and she does in a classy, yet sexy way. Her purple velvet pumps add texture and interest to her look. I want those pumps.

Well, this is the end of the post. What did you think of Katy's new single? What did you think of her style? Comment below!!
