Style Highlights: Leighton Meester

Leighton Mester is a triple threat. Singer, Actress, and Fashionista. Don't we all love and remember Good Girls Go Bad by Cobra Starship featuring Leighton Meester? I was just listening to that song and I was inspired. Which look of Leighton's is your favorite? Leave your thoughts in the comments!

Leighton Meester in Chanel [left] and in Elie Saab [right].

Leighton looks classic and effortlessly chic--although she kept it a little edgy with a tribal-inspired bib necklace. The geometric detail at the hemline is so unique but she keeps the look simple with patent leather mary-janes. The winged eye makeup is so stunning. I wouldn't mind if she wore that look more often.

Leighton goes fun and care free with this adorable Elie Saab number. It is light, fresh, and so youthful. The textured details on the shoulders and at the hemline beautifully contrast the velvet pumps Leighton picked for the night. She keeps the look youthful by piling her hair on the top of her head with a few tendrils framing her smiling face.

Leighton rocked a white textured look mini and flowered heels. I adore mini-dresses with long sleeves. They're much more fashion and a lot less hooch. Leighton's long loose hair is a stunning contrast with the crisp white color of her outfit.

Leighton always looks her best when she's wearing dark colors with a slight rock-and-roll feel. This Michael Kors gown is the perfect mix of soft and hard. The cut-outs of the leather top show off Leighton's toned body and tiny waist. I adore the ombre affect and the pin-straight style of her hair. Adore!

Thank you for reading. Don't forget to follow and check out my second blog. I'd be so grateful!

Red Carpet Alert!: LWD

Make way litte white dress, for the long white dress. It is the perfect way to make a statement on the red carpet. And it is slowly becoming a favorite among fashionistas everywhere. What do you think?

Kirsten Dunst in Chanel [left] and Kristin Davis in Balmain [right].

Kirsten Dunst looks flawless in that Chanel. The red lip. The retro hair. The bold earrings. There is nothing I would change. Kirsten is so admirable because she dresses for fashion not to please the main-stream media. But this looks pleased both fashionistas and non-fashionistas alike. The delicate neckline/top of Kristin Davis' gown is so beautiful. There is no denying that.

Gwyneth Paltrow in Emilio Pucci [left] and Eva Mendes in Dior [right].

This is the gown heard round the world. When Gwyneth Paltrow stepped out in this daring gown it grabbed huge attention. From the front it appears demure and minimalistic but that side slit sends a statement. Some people said that it was inappropriate for a woman of her age but at what age does being sexy end? She has better bodies than many twenty-year-olds and more power to her. Eva stuns in this simple white gown accented with vintage turquoise jewelry. A statement cocktail ring and a pair of subtle earrings and the look is complete.

Jessica Stam in a floor sweeping gown [left] and Dakota Fanning in Valentino [right].

Jessica Stam--Canadian supermodel--looks amazing in this mod-inspired look. With high teased hair and monochromatic, sweeping gown looks incredibly modern with simple but important touches like a round clutch and bold, chunky lilac necklace. It hangs on her body beautifully. While Jessica went for minimalistic, Dakota went for volume. The tightly fitted bodice is juxtoposed by her alightly overwhelming skirt. The skirt is a bit unconventional because it starts below the hips.

I'm about to take my sister to Starbucks--that was part of my Christmas present to her. She has fallen in love with White Chocolate Pepermint Mochas [minus the Mocha]. So we're going to get cofee and then spent the day at the mall. On my dime, of couse. Wish me luck. What did you get for Christmas?

How To: Wear Bold Color

The moment I saw Carey Mulligan in her bright, cobalt heels I knew that I had to post about those bad boys. And then I started to noticed that lately celebs have been loving adding a burst of unexpected color to their outfits with this electric color.

Carey Mulligan in a balck and white beaded dress [left] and Heidi Klum in printed mini [right].

Whether you want to add a pop with shoes both Heidi and Carrey know that these velvet cobalt pumps are the perfect accessory for their very color-less looks. A bold shoes is unexpected as they normally play a supporting role in outfits but these two looks are perfection.

Clemence Poesy in Louis Vuitton [left] and Blake Lively in a Pucci jacket and cobalt pants [right].

If shoes are too subtle for you, there are always skirts and the less obvious option--pants. Clemence looks wonderful in her bold skirt and sub-dued top and shoes. Then Blake looks stunning in her bright cobalt capris and padded shouldered golden jacket. People often forget about their bottom half when they're searching for ways to add color.

Robin Wright Penn in a Matthew Williamson jacket, white tee, and skinny jeans [left]. Gwen Stefani in her own brand, L.A.M.B. [right].

A cobalt jacket is a celeb favorite. Choose a jacket that is fit properly. It will draw the eye to the top half of your body, giving you the chance to camoflauge any unwanted imperfections with black jeans. Throw on a white or black tee and the look is complete. Simple and effortlessly chic.

And this is the end of today's session. Leave any suggestions in the comments. They're really appreciated. And I'd like to thank all of my readers. Especially all the ones who have been with me from the begining. Thank you! And follow if you want to.

Zoe Saldana on the Red Carpet

My cats are in a stare-down right now. It's kind of funny when they do that. In a couple seconds one of them will turn around and run off in the opposite direction. :) If you have pets that do weird things then leave it in the comments.

But I'm going to do a quick post before I head off to tennis practice. It'll be short and quick. I promise! :) Um...going to talk about Zoe Saldana's style. Its been a while since I talked about her.

Zoe Saldana in Louis Vuitton [left] and Botegga Veneta [right].

These looks are very different. One is printed and a throw-back in time. The other is super modern and sleek. The Louis Vuitton is clearly more fashion while the Botegga Veneta is more main-stream. But both are incredibly beautiful. I don't think I've ever said this but I love Zoe's skintone. Its such a pretty carmel-mocha. [i didn't mean to make her sound like a Starbuck's drink.]

Those shoes in the left look are so chic. Adore! :)

Zoe Saldana in a grey sheath [left] and Emilio Pucci [right].

That right look is insane. Its balances between the tight line of fashion and main-stream. The embellished glitter looks like a snake is running across her dress and I think that it is adorable. Plus those shoes are bananas. Hello, my name is Lane Newlin and I am addicted to shoes. :)

Zoe matched her shoes perfectly to her dress. The simple draping and clean lines create a dress that is classic and timeless. Zoe could store this look in her closet and pop it out twenty years later. She would still look fabulous! :) Her wavy locks make me envious. Is there any wonder why Zoe is a modern style icon?

Okay. No fancy outro. I got to go but I wanted to blog first. Bye! :)

The Rachel Zoe Baby Project!

I blogged about Rachel Zoe's pregnancy before it was officially announced. I know. I know. That's bad journalism--if you can ever call what I do journalism. But I was too excited at the prospect of a baby Zoe. Anyway, now I don't have to use the words "allegedly" when I'm talking about it. Here's a look at the clothes a baby girl Zoe would inherit. Lucky.

Rachel Zoe in Marc Jacobs [left] and Chanel [right].

Rachel shimmers in this marvelous Marc Jacobs number. Zoe went to support her good friend in his own design. Long sleeves on a gown can easily look matronly but with the low cut top and the high middle slit keeps the dress look young and fresh. No jewelry, a black clutch, and a heels keep the look stylish.

Chanel is effortless, classic, and iconic. And Rachel is all of those things in this black garmet. Her signature blonde waves are the only bit of color in this monochormatic look. But what it lacks in color it makes up for in beautiful construction.

Rachel Zoe in Emilio Pucci [left] and Calvin Klein [right].

Emilio Pucci is known for his brilliant uses of prints. And this look on Rachel is no expcetion. The floorsweeping length is so glamorous and elgant. A clutch and bold bangle is all she needs to complete the look.

Calvin Kelin is effortless, simple, and clean lines. This jumper is exactly that. The olive green color is a nice unexpected neutral. Throw on a jacket and Rachel would look amazing in the cold winter weather and yet she reminds everyone of spring on the inside. Lovely.

I hope that Rodger and Rachel have a beautiful baby. I'm a huge fan of their show and they've been talking about having one for a long time now. Does anyone know when the next season of The Rachel Zoe Project set to premiere on Bravo? Comment below!

Gwyneth Paltrow's Big Interview with Chlesea

Gwyneth has been making headlines. And not the way most celebrities do. No stumbling out of night clubs. No good girl behaving badly. She performed at the CMA's promoting her new movie, Country Strong. Then she made a guest appearance on Glee [which i loved!], and now she was on Chelsea Lately's Big Interview Special with Anne Hathaway and Xtina.

Gwyneth Paltrow in silk top, black shorts, and Emilio Pucci shoes [left]. Gwyneth in a Stella McCartney blazer and military cropped pants [right].

Who said that short weren't stylish? Well, obviously that person has never seen Gwyneth Paltrow rock them. She picks a dark color-short with a light lavender top. The top is baggy to contrast with Gwyneth's long legs. And those black strappy heels are to die for!

Stella McCartney has a way with separates. And this sand blazer looks great with her military inspired cropped pants. Most of you know that I'm a big sucker for anything military inspired. I love army green as a neutral. Her hair is always styled to perfection but I'd love to mention that her shoes are so unique. With the wide, white band across the front. So pretty.

Gwyneth Paltrow in Louis Vuitton [left] and Calvin Klein Collection [right].

LV. I have been and always will be in love with Louis Vuitton. I love the dress itself. Its stunning with the subtle sparkles and tear-drop shaped whole in the front. That is so unique and cutting edge. Not adoring Gwyneth's sleeked back hair but I understand that she was taking a risk. And I applaud her on that.

Next this citrus colored mini is so chic. I love short dress with long sleeves. In my mind its a classic way to look professional without looking hoochy. She paired them with subtle heels that are meant to accessorize not steal the show. A very smart move.

First, let me say that Gwyneth's interview with Chelsea Handler was hilarious. I loved it when Gwyneth was talking about how her daughter talks in a British accent when she's with friends but is completely American with the family. Apple sounds adorable! Just watch the interview below!
