Diane von Furstenberg and Friends

Diane von Furstenberg is a woman with lots of connections. Recently I became intrigued by the idea of designers in their off-time. Who do they socialize with? What do they wear? I decided to explore the possibilites in a mini-series of blogs. I hope you enjoy.

Lust List: You Belong With Me

Oh, Taylor Swift. You've helped me through long car rides, intense workouts, and the occasional emotional crisis. I bought her newest CD the moment it came out but recently I've become obsessed again. My favorite songs are Mine, Sparks Fly, and Back to December.

Today, I decided to share my latest Lust List with you guys. How did you like my latest post collection, Best Dressed List of 2010? I'm really proud of the work that I did. But anyway, enough rambling. Let's get into the post.

Elizabeth and James Gypsy Sleeveless Silk Blouse

The return to school countdown clock has begun. I can't wait! [note my sarcasm] I hope your new year is off to a brilliant start. Still have to write the research paper that's due the day I get back. Oh, procrastination. You get me every time.

Happy Birthday Jimmy Choo!

I know its hard to believe that the Jimmy Choo brand has been keeping feet fashionable for 15 years. But as of just recently, it has been that long. The famous shoemaker was born in Malaysia into a family of shoemakers.  Its very impressive that he was able to take the family business and turn it into a multi-million dollar empire.

Cameron Diaz in Diane von Furstenberg mini and Jimmy Choo booties [left] and Nikki Reed in a gold-sequined mini and strappy Jimmy Choos [right].

Jennifer Aniston in an Alexander MCQueen blazer, Valentino Haute Couture mini, and Jimmy Choo heels [left]. Diane Kruger in Chanel and Jimmy Choo mary-janes [right].

Jimmy Choo is loved by many. And the shoes are so versatile. From rain boot to mary-janes. From strappy heels to boots. There's nothing you could desire that Choo doesn't make. Classic Chanel

Rachel Bilson is a street style fashionista. And it is well known that Rachel loves herself some Chanel. She has been seen several times around town in her classic Chanel Medium Shopping Bag. And in each shot she looks equally fabulous.

This is the official start of the holiday break for me. I'm so excited. :) I might go see How Do You Know this weekend but I'm still undecided. If you've seen it, leave your thoguhts in the comments. Thank you for reading and I'll talk to you guys tomorrow!

Victoria Beckham is Beautiful in Elle

There is just something about British style that is so completely different compared to American style. Victoria Beckham is a style icon. She takes risks--most of which that pay off. And she doesn't let main stream media stop her from wearing what she wants to. I adore her fashion and Victoria Beckham Collection.

Victoria was interviewed for Elle Magazine last year. She looked so pretty that I knew that I would have to feature it in one of my posts. And its finally time. The styling was done by Joe Zee--an amazing man! I hope you enjoy!

"When people say...'Poor you, it must've been really difficult'--poor me? I live in Beverly Hills. I'm very, very lucky. I wake up every morning and reconize I'm blessed." Beckham in a Dior Haute Couture jacket [left] and Diour Haute Couture veil [right].

"You know, I love America. It's such a positive country." Backham in Diane von Furstenberg swim suit paired with Nina Ricci platforms shoes [left] and Valentino gown [right].

Beckham describes herself as the "squarest woman in Beverly Hills" who goes "to a normal movie theater" with her friends to screen, The Hangover. Bekcham in a Stella McCartney jumpsuit and Giorgio Armani Prive pumps [left].  Beckham in Dolce and Gabbana underwear [right].

Eva Mendes, Backham's friend, described her as "the sexiest, most stylish mother in the world." Beckham in a Roberto Cavalli printed silk-gown [left] and Melange cashmere dress paired with a Stephen Jones for Giles leather hat [right].

If you have any celebrity's closet, who would it be? My answer would have to be either Victoria Beckham or Keira Knightley, British version. American version would be Anne Hathaway or Blake Lively. But my answers seem to be constantly changing. Who would you pick? Comment below!!

Rachel Zoe and Friends

Rachel Zoe is pregnant! :) Or at least that's what I heard on E!News. I'm so excited. Rachel, Brad, and Rodger are so fun to watch on The Rachel Zoe Project. Did anyone see the spoof that was featured on one of the later episodes. I love the way she talks. :) Take a look below!

Anyway, to celebrate her rumored pregnancy I thought I'd do a post featuring her and her designer friends. I know. She's such a lucky girl. I wish I could hang out with Marc Jacobs and Nicole Richie.

Rachel Zoe with Diane von Furstenberg and Marc Jacobs.

Rachel Zoe and Zac Posen.

Rachel and the women of Marchesa, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig.

Rachel Zoe and fellow Boho Queen, Nicole Richie.

I wish her all the luck in this exciting and life-changing time. :) I think she would be an amazing mother. She just has to slow down. And try to conquer the fashion world at a slower pace. Plus, her children would be the best-dressed children in Hollywood.

Bye! See you guys soon. Um...if you want more Viva la Fashion follow on Facebook or Subscribe through Google Friend Finder! What do you think of Rachel?

See Who's Wearing DVF

DVF! She knows a woman's body and knows how to make that body look its best. And isn't that what we all what? None of us are perfect but fashion is just about making it look like we do. And Ms. von Furstenberg knows how to do that.

See her work in action.

Diane von Furstenberg is master with prints and color. She isn't afraid to take risks and her risks in color have been known to pay off. Whether she does it short [Cameron Diaz] or long [Jessica Biel] she makes a woman look and feel confident.

But just because she is a wonder with colors doesn't mean she can't go the neutral route. Alexis Bledel looks stunning in black and white. Her lace up sandals are strong but compliment rather than compete with her graphic dress. Don't her blue eyes just seem to pop?

And Julia Roberts looks AH-Mazing! Her DVF shorts are the perfect compliment for her Stella McCartney jacket. Those colbalt-blue, bohemian bangles and earrings help make an almost all black outfit look fresh and young. Who needs pants when you have DVF shorts?

Daine [here with Molly Simms backstage at her Spring 2011 RTW show] is truly an icon. And don't you love her in risktaking yellow? She always puts a smile on my face. Always. :)

Plus she was on American's Next Top Model's season permiere. And wasn't she on Gossip Girl? DVF is all over the CW! Maybe I'm remembering wrong. Comment below!

School is starting to get a little intense and I might not blog as often as I should. I'm here to say sorry in advance. I'll try to write blogs in advance and then just post them but I don't know if that'll happen. :) Happy Thursday. Just one more day until the weekend. Yes!

The Queen of Prints

Is there any question that Diane von Furstenberg is an amazing designer? Well, there isn't any in my mind. I love this woman's line. Plus I've seen her talk on TV and I just love her sense of humor. Can you imagine my excitment when Whitney off The City went to work for DVF?

Here's a quick look at who is wearing DVF and why Diane is able to make prints look stunning on any woman. :) <3

Vanessa Hudgens' floral print skirt works because she pairs it with a simple black tank and grey cardigan. The skirt is able to take center stage, as it should, and her entire ensamble is pleasant to the eye. Its not overwhelming but the skirt helps pump up the volume just enough for a stroll through the streets.

Doesn't Debra just look stunning in that blue-green color. It works so well with her bright hair and pale skin. Upon closer inspection a small print covers the entire fabric. The simple cut is very DVF. But it still makes me, as an observer, stop and stare. There's something about the dress that draws the eye. Is there any reason why I love DVF?

Bold. Bright. Beautiful. The yellow adds much needed volume to this simple cut dress. The bold contrast between the black and white and yellow draw the eye closer. The unique and almost paint-spattered inspired print is just stunning, don't you think? Sienna's tights and shoes mute down the drama of the dress without looking awkward or strange. Its a lovely piece that I'm absolutely in love with.

Looking at all these lovely ladies in DVF makes me want to own her stuff even more! Sigh. :) She is just so much fun. Nothing much to report about my life, in the shopping arena or otherwise. I'm been just sitting around the house lately.

Oh, and question. Do you like the way my blog looks now? Or do you perfer its original layout? Please comment below!! :)
