NARS' Dolce Vita Lipstick

I'm a bit of a lipstick junkie--confession time. I like to experiment with different lip shades and textures and brands. For the past...I don't know, week I have been obsessed with NARS' lipstick in the color Dolce Vita. I recently got this in the store but when the lady suggested this color I was a little hesitant.

But don't let the darker color intimidate you! The NARS website describes this particular shade as a sheer lipstick. The consistancy makes this color extremely wearable. When I apply it in the morning it looks like a beautiful, rosy flush to my lips. It looks very natural. This lipstick is very glossy, very easy to apply. It glides onto the lips beautifully. If you don't want to carry around a lipstick AND a lipgloss all day, try this product. But I do warn that it comes off very easily whenever I drink or eat. The gloss also disappears throughout the day but the rose color stays. So if you want the dewy look to last then you'll have to reapply.

I'm extremely glad that I purchased this. Dolce Vita is the third NARS lipstick that I own but at the moment it is my favorite! Like all NARS products it is quite expensive. So I would not reccomend buying online only to recieve a product that you thought looked differently in a picture.

Don't forget to follow and check out my second blog.

In the Mood Polishes

Hey guys! I'm finally back from my trip. :) I really am sorry that its taking so long for me to announce the winner of my giveaway. It...it was just bad planning on my part. Horrible planning. Sometimes I act without thinking.
But I'm so excited. About a month ago I was lucky enough to recieve a package from In the Mood Nail Polishes. This polish changes based on the temperature. So you might start the day with baby pink nails. Eat lunch with a lavender shade and then go to sleep with those baby pink nails. :)

Isn't that the coolest idea? I was then more and more impressed when I started seeing this polish everywhere. And I mean everywhere. It featured in the September issue of InStyle Magazine. Yes, the one with Hilary Swank on the cover.

Next, I was browsing Cosmopolitan Magazine's website [when i was supposed to be doing my current event. i know. i know. i shouldn't procrastinate.] and I saw that In the Mood was being featured again. Click here to see the article.

Now, moving on to what I thought. I am a bit biased but I really do perfer wider brushes. This brush was kind of on the small side. That was my major problem with In the Mood polishes but hoenstly it wasn't that big of a deal. I just had to swipe the brush across my nail a few more times.

Big whoop. Also with the color Flirty, which changes from light pink to dark pink, its hard to tell if the polish has changed colors. I would pick another shade where its easier to tell.

But this is the coolest thing since mood rings. I used to have one when I was little and I kind of think this is a more sophisticated version of a mood ring. And bonus: this won't turn your finger green. [my mom finally made me throw mine away because of my green finger]
And I'm here to announce my winner!! :D My sister and I did the name pulled from a hat thing again. We put on Valentine's Day, cooked ramen, and spent Thursday afternoon filling out names on pieces of paper. We made our ballots and checked them twice. :)

And the winner is...Shell! I sent you an email please get back to me soon!

Plus, if you want your own mood polishes then you can buy the complete set here. This is a total rave for me! Have you tried this product? If so what did you think? Comment below!!

Softlips Review + Giveaway!!

My Target giveaway has recently ended. I got so many entries and I'm glad that it was so well received. :) I'm so sorry that I haven't been blogging lately. I know...it's been pretty horrible. But I am trying to spend as much time in with my family as possible.

I know its not a good enough excuse but...its true. :) I love spending time with my family...they're crazy. In a lovable and kind of normal way. :) But its been pretty cramped here. It is my grandma, my two uncles, my aunt, my two cousins, my mom, my sister, and I all crammed into a three bedroom house.

If you lost count that's nine people. And this house was built in the fifties [meaning the rooms aren't that big!].

Talk about a full house. [sorry for the lame joke!] But onto the review! Softlips. The products were sent to me about a month ago...yeah, I think a month ago maybe two. And I was beyond thrilled when I received the package. Softlips are by far my favorite chap stick. I received their original line.

There are eight flavors in their original line. [from left to right] Vanilla, Wildberry, Coconut Cream, Peach Mango, Cherry, Raspberry, Mint with a hint of Vanilla, and Strawberry.

My favorites are Vanilla [i have seven of those now], Wildberry [the scent is really fresh], and Mint with a hint of Vanilla [which is really weird because i'm not a mint person--at all]. But in all honesty all of these flavors are amazing and it was really hard to narrow it down to three.

The product is really, really smooth and makes your lips feel super moist and soft. [i wonder why they named the company Softlips? Hmmm...] The packaging is also really cute and will fit in the front pocket of your jeans without the weird bump that a lot of other chap sticks give you.

Plus, I don't know if you know this but Softlips Original line gives you a SPF 15 protection. Keeping your lips safe from the sun's harmful rays. Which is always a plus. Even though it sounds weird, your lips do get burned [a chapped feeling] if you stay in the sun too long.

Another thing I really love about this company is the tingling sensation you get when you put it on. To me the tingling sensation gives me a peace of mind. The sensation means the product is working. And I noticed that if I reapply another coat after a few hours, the tingling sensation is gone. So I'm assuming that means my lips have pretty much reached their capacity for moisture.

Plus, the smell is amazing. Sigh. Unlike a lot of chap sticks Softlips works just as well but smells 10 times better. No lie! :)

Correct me if I'm wrong but that's what I think it means. :) I honestly love this product. 100%! And completely recommend this product to anyone who wants to keep their lips soft especially when winter comes [the cold air absorbs moisture from your lips making them more chapped]. I actually bought my sister products from the PURE [organic] line for her birthday. She's a Softlips junkie too. [i hope she doesn't read this post]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay! Onto the giveaway. So exciting. :)

One lucky reader will win a $75 gift card to Target. [i know some of you are like, 'again? you just had a Target gift card giveaway. can you be a little more original?'] But gift cards are easy because I know the person who win will really like their prize because they're going to pick it out themselves.

Plus, Target is where I purchased my sister's birthday present from and I know that they carry the complete Softlips line. So maybe you could pick up a few products to keep your lips healthy during the winter? :)

Product Rave!

I'm coming to you guys with a prodcut rave. I don't think I've ever done one of these. Maybe this is because I've never found a product that I like this much! I adore it. Adore!!

Okay, I've left all of you in suspense long enough. Drum roll please. I have fallen in love with the Brush Guard. I put them on right after I wash my brushes and I honestly feel like they make my brushes feel like new. So soft. So clean. So amazing!

The bristles don't fray. And I honestly think they are well worth the investment. My sister picked them up from the post office about three weeks ago...I think. [sorry, my memory is starting to go.]

And to be honest I was a little hesitant to use them. I mean, I just didn't think they would work as well as they did. But she was so excited about this product and her excitment was extremely infectious.

But I am humble enough to say "I was wrong. Very wrong."

I have two of the variety pack [meaning you get one XSmall, two Small, two Medium, and one Large]. There are enough brush guards to give one to each of my Sigma brushes and the other random brushes that I use. :)

They do ship internationally and to Canada but there is an extra charge. I don't do product raves very often but when I do them, I talk about products I honestly believe in. And when I travel to my grandma's there is no way I'm leaving without these bad boys.

Brushes [good quality brushes, not those little spounge applicator you get in your drug store eye shadow] are a huge investment. They cost hundreds of dollars. This is a quick, relatively cheap way to make sure that investment lasts as long as possible. I just washed my brushes and here's a picture of what Brush Guards look like in action!

[my brushes in their pretty, little Brush Guard cacoon! So cute.]
Bye! I know this was a quick post but I have to start packing. I think I might take you guys along with me on my trip! So excited. :D

FTC: The Brush Guard was sent to me for review pruposes. I am not being compensated. I have no affliation with this company. The Sigma brushes were also sent to me for review purposes. The rest of the brushes were purchsed with my own money. All opinions are my own. :)

Sigma Review + Giveaway! **CLOSED**

Hi guys! It's finally time for the big giveaway I have spent the past couple days blogging about. Thanks for all your well-wishes. Smokey is doing fine. He's still a little sluggish today but he's purring and eating. Okay, onto the good stuff.

About two-three weeks ago Sigma sent me their Complete Set of Professional Brushes. I was very honored and beyond thrilled with the opportunity. For those who don't know Sigma brushes are a very well-known dupes for MAC brushes. I'm thinking about doing a video, that way I can go more in-depth, so keep an eye out for that. :)

First, I'd like to point out that if you buy all twelve Sigma brushes that I'm going to show you that it'll cost you $69.99 without the brushfold and $89.99 with the brush fold. If you were to buy all twelve of these brushes from MAC it would cost you $333. I just did the math.

I feel that there really is no comparison. That a $263 difference! And I feel the only significant difference between the two bush sets is the fact that one set says MAC while the other says Sigma.

Anyway, the brush fold is also amazing quality. Its this soft, leather-y feel to them. And the snap to close the fold is magnatized and isn't a cheap velcrow strip like other folds I've seen. Sigma really put a notcable effort to make their prodcuts the best quality they could make them.

And all the brushes are made from either natural, synthetic, or a mix bristiles. Natural bristles make the brushes softer. And I know tht I mentioned that the brushes are soft but I don't think you understand how amazing they feel on your skin.

Well, that's my review of Sigma brushes. They're durable and amazing quality. The handle is long and fits perfectly in my hand. :) I also love the fact that they come with a pamphlet exaplaining the purpose of each brush. It also comes with instructions on how to care for your brushes.

Sigma wants the brushes to be an investment that lasts for a long, long time. :) If you want a list of all the brushes, their purpose, and my thoughts on them click here!

Okay, that are all the brushes you get in the set. Now onto the giveaway!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, we get to the giveaway! :) Super excited. This is the biggest giveaway in Viva La Fashion history. I know, its big. Yesterday I went and I purchased a $200 gift card from Target in celebration of getting 600 followers! Yes, you could win a $200 giftcard just by entering this contest.

I picked Target because it has a really great selection of beauty/fashion products. Plus, its a store that is accesable to a lot people and even if you don't live by a Target there is an online store. So here's how you can win.

The Sigma Brushes

Here are all the brushes that come in the kit. And these are my thoughts on each one. Enjoy! :)

[note the brush fold does NOT come with the white numbers on them. I just put them there for a visual.]
_
SS150
Applies powder foundation and transcluscent powders. It is large and applies makeup very easily. Does shed a little but the shedding stops after its been washed a few times.
_
SS190 and SS187
Applies liquid foundation. I haven't been wearing liquid foundation this summer but I did want to try out this brush so I did wear some earlier this week. The brush applies evenly. But I perfer the SS187. Its just a personal preference. The SS187 gives an airbrushed finish and I love using this brush to apply my tinted moisturizer.

SS168 and SS194,
The SS168 applies blush (its an angled blush brush) and is great for contouring. <3 this brush. I use it everyday. And the SS194 is a concealer brush. Its the perfect size to fit under the eye to hide those unattractive dark circles some of [me included] have.
_
SS275 and SS252 and SS239
I decided to talk about these three brushes together because they're all very similar. The SS275 is the angled shading brush. I use this to put shadow on my brow and the inner corner. Sometimes I use it as a crease brush. Now the SS252 and SS239 are extremely similar, only the SS252 is a lot larger than the SS239. They're both shading brushes and it just depends on eye shape/size on which brush will do the better job.

SS266 and SS209
Both of these are liner brushes. The SS266 is the angled one. I personally perfer the SS209. I feel like I have a litte more control withe SS209 because it is smaller but my sister loves the SS266. So I've given it to her. Neither one is better than the other, it jsut depends on how you apply makeup.
____
SS224 and SS219
The SS224 is the tapered blending brush. Oh my gosh! I use this brush everyday. Everyday. It blends out harsh edges. Love it! :) And the SS219 is the pencil brush. I use it to apply shadow in the crease and outer corner. It can also be uses to smudge out liner for a smokey look.

Hauling It

Haul Time!! :D I actually bought all this stuff a while ago. I've just been in summer mode and its taken me forever to take pictures Sigh. I'm sorry. But its not a huge haul but it was a large enough shopping spree to constitute a haul.

I don't know. :) I hope you enjoy. Its a MAC/ Victoria Secrets haul. Two of my favorite stores. I can literally spend two hours just in my Victoria Secret. Does that seem absolutely ridiculous? Comment below.

Okay, well enough of my rambling. I'm going to get started with the products from VS.

I know I should've taken a picture of the body sprays by themselves but at the time I didn't think about it. Now I'm regretting that I didn't. I really wanted to get this post up today and I don't have my camera with me, so...I'm going to have to make due with the pics I took earlier.

Sorry! :) Okay, so in the above picture from right to left. Watermelon Haze [favorite!], Punchadelic [sister's fave], and Berry Smooch.

I couldn't find these scents on the website though I'm not quite sure why. Maybe they've been discontinued? Maybe they haven't. Again, I'm not quite sure. If you do know maybe you should leave me a comment?

Okay onto the MAC. :) Yay!

For some reason, until this summer I was never into lipstick. I loved lipgloss! I adored lipgloss! And in my mind I sort of associated lipstick with my grandma. I don't know where that assciation came from but it just stuck. Then about two months ago I became obsessed with lipstick.

I mean it was getting pretty horrible so I stopped myself from buy lipsticks just on a whim. And I told myself I'd have to wait and only buy them if I really, really wanted them. So I feel in love with these three MAC lipsticks. I'm so behind the power curb. I know.

Most of you can probably tell what colors they are just by looking but in order from right to left: Myth, Viva Glam V, and Creme Cup. All amazing colors. I think my favorite out of the bunch would have to be Viva Glam V. Maybe Myth. It's a tie for me.

Although, Viva Glam V was voted top department store lipstick for the summer by Allure magazine readers. Fun fact. And it really is a beautiful color. I should've done swatches. I don't know where my head was today. Sorry. Again.

Oh, btw. I adore my grandma. I really do. :)

Next part of the haul is kind of boring mixed with a bit of fun. I got a paint pot in Painterly. Woo! Very exciting, I know. [note my sarcasm] But I adore Painterly. Its a basic that I think almost every girl should have.

Not very fun, but I did get something from the Back to the Beach collection. I procrastinated and waited to buy things until I absolutely loved them. Big Mistake! :) But I did get my hands on Shimmermoss. Simply adore the color. Plus, the packaging is so fun. From the picture you can see its a really great, beach-y, turquoise.

I use it as eyeliner mostly. But sometimes for fun I put in on my lids.

And...that's my haul. :) I haven't done one of these in a while. And I don't know why. Hauls are my favorite things to read about on blogs. I just hate when people don't have enough pictures like I do. Sorry! But I hope you enjoyed and see you guys soon.

P.S. Click the follow button if you liked it. ;D

Wonderfully Wu

I still think Jason Wu is a genius and here is yet another post in honor of his brilliance! Click here to see my first one. I know I just recently posted about him but I decided I'd do it again. One: because I have to keep writing my essay and I needed something beautiful to look at. And two: because I just wanted to. :)

Doesn't Kerry look amazing? I love the color of her dress. The entire thing looks stunning on her.

Kerry Washington at 38th Annual Legislative Conference. Wearing Floor Sweeping
Jason Wu Dress and Multi-Strand Movado Necklace.

Camilla Belle at CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. Wearing Jason Wu Dress, Chiain
Fringed Tote, and Gray Pumps.

Amber Valletta at the Premotion Premiere. Wearing Jason Wu Dress, Yves
Saint Laurent Clutch and Shoes.

Just got back from watching As You Like It  performed by my school's drama department. It was the best play I've gone to see in a long time. :) I laughed. A lot. The girl who played Rosalind was hilarious. Sooo funny. :)

It was a long day yesterday, I'd also played tennis. The school I went to had nine courts. Nine courts!! I'm so jealous right now. I can only imagine what my tennis team could do with nine tennis courts. :) Oh, well. I guess we'll just have to stick with our four.

My mom bought me the Nars 15th Anniversary Everlasting Love Pallete for Christmas. I know that was ages ago but she just found it in a box when we were cleaning. It has Orgasm in it. And you guys might know that I'm in love with that stuff. :)

Living in Hong Kong

Time to be a little exotic. I know the Hong Kong Collection by OPI has been out for a while but I thought I'd still write about my opinions. I'm just sitting here eating some cuties and I couldn't think of anything to write about. So here it goes...

Jade Is the New Black
This one--by far--is the most unique one from the collection. Its this really beautiful jade color. Well, obviously because that's the title of the polish. Duh. :) But I truly think that the color is so pretty. I want to keep it on my nails at all time. Really, really do.

Suzy Says Feng Shui
From just looking at the bottle, it kind of reminds me of the color of Alice;s (from Alice in Wonderland) dress. Doesn't it? I don't know. When I first saw it, I thought that it was a pretty color but I didn't know if I would want that color on my nails, you know? Its an Alice blue. But for some reason I don't know why. I don't like the color of this color on my nails but on my sister's nails its sooo pretty. It's weird, I know. Has that ever happened to anyone. Maybe I should just try it on again.

Dim Sum Plum
How cute is that name? Dim Sum Plum. Hahaha. Reminds me of Janet Evanovich books. Because the main characters name is Stephanie Plum. I don't know. I read one of her books and I laughed sooo hard. :) But back to Dim Sum Plum. Its a pretty color. But maybe I'm biased because purple is my favorite color. Almost anything purple I love. So maybe you shouldn't listen to me. :)

I know there were like nine other colors in the collection but none of them really stood out. Other than Meet Me on the Star Ferry, I really want that one but I don't want to talk about it without actually having it in my posession, you know. I can't really talk about it but it looks really pretty.

Pearl of Wisdom is pretty but there's nothing special about it. Its just a white color. Why spend so much money on an un-special white color? I don't know. Personally I wouldn't. But I really do love white nails. They're so chic.

I also wear black nails when I'm lazy. But I make sure my dad doesn't see. He thinks that I'm turning Emo or something. But doesn't Mary-Kate look stunning with her dark nails? Love her. And I love Harper's Bazaar. A match made in Viva La Fashion Heaven!

Anway. These were just my thoughts. Write in the comments what you think. :D I'd love to hear your thoughts.

April Favorites!!

The title is a little self explantory. I don't think I need much of an intro. Just got done with my SAT's and I hope I did good. Crossies. :) It just took so long. And my AP test start next week. Wish me luck! Oh, so nervous.

MAC's Dazzleglass Moth To Flame
This favorite kind of goes together with my other favorite, Laura Geller's Nice-n-Nude. They look so pretty together. So pretty. I've had this in my collection for a while and I thought it was pretty but it was never a favorite. Its a favorite now! I mean how could it not be? :) Its so pretty.

I'm not a brand name makeup person by any means. And this eyeliner is just as good as a brand name liner. I lost the cap to mine a while ago but I still love the color. I wear this on my lower lashline when I'm sporting a really neautral eye. Plus isn't purple supposed to make brown eyes pop?

I've talked about this open before! :) In my earlier post, Kick Back and Relax. I still love it. And this had to make its way into my April Favorites post. It was a no brainer. I won't bore you guys with another ramble about why I love nude lips.
__
Icepacks and Ankle Braces
I sprained my ankle! I know. That means I can't play tennis for like a week. This is so frustrating. And so icepacks and ankle braces have become my best friend. Maybe these aren't my favorites becuase I like my sprained ankle but the packs and the braces make it less painful. :)

I love this movie despite the cheesiness and the bad acting. :) My dad bought it for me and I was so excited. Taylor Lautner is so much cuter than Robert Pattinson. Just saying. Hahaha. :) It was so much better than Twilight. So much better. Maybe its becacuse Robert Pattinson isn't in the movie as much. Please don't hate me Rob fans!

What were your April favorites?

Models Without Makeup

Semi-recently Harper's Bazaar decided to present pictures of supermodels without makeup to their readers. Click here to read all about their anti-aging techniques and to see more models without makeup. :)

I loved this idea because it shows that even the most beautiful women in the world have flaws. They're all beautiful women, even without the makeup, but it shatters the idea that women have to be perfect. There is no way anyone on Earth is perfect, not even these women.

I commend them for their courage because its hard being in the public eye and being photographed without their makeup on is like opening up the door  for critism. People can, and do, tear these people apart for not being perfect. It's sad but true.

End of PSA. Sorry. :)

Claudia Schiffer

Amber Valletta

Shalom Harlow

Cindy Crawford

Helena Christensen

This kind of reminds me of the Marie Claire photoshoot that Jessica Simpson did without makeup and without photoshop. I think that is the coolest. :) Go Jessica! I've been watching her new show on Vh1 lately, The Price of Beauty and it isn't too bad.

It isn't Newlyweds but its still good. Did anyone see that episode from Uganda and there was this thing called the fattening hut? A woman could spend two months jsut sitting in a hut trying to get fat. They can't move a lot (because it would burn calories) and the only time they can leave is to use the bathroom.

I would be sooo bored. :) But the women seem to want to be there and think that spending time in the hut is an honor.

Off to help my mom set up for her Girl's Night In party. :) Bye!

Red Hot!

I don't know if you guys can see it but Kate has her nails painted this beautiful deep red. I love her dress. Its Burberry Prorsum. I posted about it earlier, here. A little bit of a sidenote but has anyone heard those rumors that Kate got a boob job? That's crazy. I hate how the media always picks on women and their bodies.

Magazines sometimes takes a picture of a girl smiling and then compares it to a picture of the same girl not smiling and they say she got a nose job because her nose looks slimmer. Well, of course her nose is going to be bigger when you're smiling. Thats what happens! Duh. Oh, geez

Okay. Mini rant over. Back to Kate's nails rather than her...other stuff. :)

I really like the idea of a bright red for summer/spring. Here's jsut a small list of my favorite red colors for summer. Red reminds me of the beach...and sunburns. Hahaha.

Off With Her Red
Out of all the colors I picked. Off With Her Red is the truest red. Its a red-red. Believe me. If you want a bold, bright color then pick this color. I think if you have a really, really light skintone or a really dark skintone this color would look so good on. It would pop so well.

Conquistadorable Color
This nailpolish color isn't a crayon red, its more like berry red. But its a really, really pretty deep berry color. Its one of my favorite polishes ever! :) And the name is so cute, right? Conquistadorable...that's adorable! Very punny, I know. :) But it would be a really cute, deep color for summer. Its more of a mature color.

Manicurist of Seville
This is the most sophisticated color of all of these. Its also the darkest. I would say. Its like Conquistadorable Color but its darker and less pink. It has more red undertones. This is also a berry color. Like I said its really sophisticated and mature and I think that I would normally wear this color in the winter but I love the idea of wearing winter colors in the summer. My clothes in summer are normally really bright and so a more mute nail helps balance everything.

Tropical Punch
Talk about a fun color. This is almost neon, but not quite. But it is definately a super bright color but summer is the brightest time of the year, so why not celebrate with fun colors. I will admit that when I first saw this color in the bottle I didn't know if I would like it or not but once I saw it on my nails I changes my mind. I wouldn't wear this color in the winter but its a great summer color.

An Affair in Red Square
This is my favorite red color of all time. I love the name. Maybe its because it rhymes? Hahaha. :) Its a dark red color but I really, really like it. Sorry if you don't like dark colors because it seems like most of the  colors I'm picking are these dark, deep reds. But I'm looking at Kate's nails and I really, really like that color. Its so pretty. An Affair in Red Square is also sooo pretty. In love!

All the colors above are OPI. :) I love that brand. But my parents hate it because they don't think I should spend so much money on nailpolishes. What's you're favorite brand of nailpolish? Please help me make my parents happy with low prices. :)

Winter to Spring

See:Moulin Rouge
Ewan McGregor. Singing? Swoon!! :) I lovethis movie. Its bitter sweet and filled with music. The Elephant Love Medley and Come What May play on my ipod all the time. Its fun because this musical is filled with songs that the audience already knows. Its actually one of the few Nicole Kidman movies that I like. I like Nicole Kidman but lately she hasn't been putting out good movies. Did anyone seeAustralia? Yeah, if you haven't, then don't. But back to Moulin Rouge. I cried. And cried. And cried. This movie is so good. Believe me. So sweet. "I'll love you until the end of time!"

Read:People Style Watch Magazine
I love People magazine. And the style version is just as good! This magazine is more practical than Haper's Bazaar or Vogue. Its filled with deals and saving oppourtunities. Its less fantasy and more reality but that doesn't make it any less fun. It isn't filled with articles about anything other than fashion. Its fashion through and through. :)

Watch:The Vampire Diaries
I LOVE Vampire Diaries. Its intense, kind of scary, and filled with romance. What more does a series need? Three adorably cute guys. Swoon. I guess I'm swooning a lot as I write this post. Hahaha. :) But I really, really do enjoy watching this show. Its one of th few that I actually watch the night that it comes on rather than watching it online or OnDemand. I didn't think the book was as good as the series. Just my opinion. :)

Wear:Nars Orgasm
OMG. I've heard people talk about this blush before but I didn't understand what all the fuss was about. Then my mom bought me this for either my birthday or Christmas, I can't remember. Hmm...but anyway, it looks sooo good on. I love the way that it gives me this adorable flush. So pretty. I highly recomend this product. It looks amazing on.

Kick Back and Relax

Nudes have taken over the fashion world but it has also taken over my world. Or at least my cosmetic world. :) Yes, I have taken the leap from rosy colored lips to ones that look like I have nothing on. My mom has this lipstick color called Nice N' Nude and I put it on one time and thought it looked horrible. Horrible.

I looked washed out and pale and sick and just not...normal. But at the time (about a year ago) I failed to realize that I was missing out on a key step. The lipgloss, of course. :) Silly me.

Trust me. Lipgloss can transform a dull, pale nude lip into a stunning look. No lie. If you don't trust me look at the evidence.

Yes. Its Ms. Victoria Beckham rocking the nude lip. :) Doesn't she look amazing. Her messy hair and smokey eye just compliment her nude lip so well. Or should I say her nude lips compliments her messy hair and smokey eye?

I know that the nude lip is not a statment look but it helps create a statement look whether it be a bold eye or a intense hair do. The look is natural and stunning and...I've run out of adjectives. I don't want to sound like a broken record. :)

Mac's Creme d'Nude is a really nice color. My mom insists that Laura Geller's Nice n' Nude is the best. She is very loyal to her makeup brands. :) Either one gives an amazing look on the lips.

But Victoria is not the only sporting this look. Mary-Kate Olsen, Ciara, Angelina Jolie, and Michelle Trachtenberg (Georgina Sparks from GG). Its understated but not all good things need to visually assault the person looking at it. :) Hahaha. Enjoy and try the nude lip. Everyone else is. :D

I Smell Pretty

Hey, guys! :) I'm just got a few things from lush and I'm sooo excited. :)

I'm sitting in my bathroom right now, because quite frankly my bathroom smells like a lush store. But I like it that way. :)

I only got a few things. It wasn't a big spending trip or anything, I mean Christmas just happened. And not only do I have no money but I got enough stuff for Christmas.

The first soap I got was called Bohemian. *sigh* :) It's one of my favorites. According to Lush's website this soap is supposed to clear and refresh your mind. It has a lemony smell but the smells not overpowering at all.

Well, of course I got Honey I Washed the Kids. :) This soap smells soooo good, very much like honey. Although the last time I ordered Honey online it smelled....playdough-y? It was really weird and that's maybe why I don't like to order online. But maybe it was a one0time thing. If you've ever order online from LUSH, were the products weird smelling. Hmmm...I don't know. :)

From now on, I will have to buy this soap whenever I go to LUSH. :) It smells like a nice bouquet of roses. It's called Ring of Roses and I find myself just sitting there and smelling it. I feel so weird. :) But, oh well.

I want to expand my "LUSH Soap Collection" and so if you have a favorite LUSH product, please tell me what it is. Whenever I go into a LUSH store I get so overwhelmed by all the different products, I have a hard time finding new products. :) Please Comment and Follow! :D

Distorted Perception

For the longest time I have heard about this commercial. I've heard my friend speak of it, and she said the change was astounding but up until this week, I'd never seen it before. Let me tell you I was floored. Shocked. And a little...I don't know fascinated.
___
Its the dove commercial. If you haven't seen it click here. This is a link to the Dove, Campaign for Real Beauty website. Really, if you haven't seen it. Go. It will make you think a little more.
____
You see this woman, and at first she's not a beauty but she's not horrifically ugly. She's just a woman you would see on the street. But in less than two minutes you see her transform, or should I say evolve into this woman that is nothing like how she started.
____
This commercial does make you think a little more. Its a little like SuperSize Me but in commercial form. It makes you take a second look and question the world we live in, in a way. I thought it was an interesting commercial and I want to share it with all of you even if you've already seen it.

What's in a Scent?

Scents, like taste, is something that separates us from the group. Even the best of friends have different likes and dislikes when it comes to smell. Although some smells are universal (is it safe for me to say that almost everyone dislikes the smell of an unclean bathroom?) perfumes are not.

Perfumes, soaps, and anything scented are not something you should take people's word for. I've heard countless people say that they adore the smell of Lush's Therapy Massage Bar and when I first smelled it at the store I think I actually gagged. But I bought it anyway (don't know what I was thinking) and I keep trying to smell it in hopes that I guess maybe miraculously the scent will change and I'll see what everyone else smell. But it never happens. Needless to say I don't use it very often. :(

But during my trip to my aunt's, I visited my first Sephora. I'm not sure if I already mentioned this but I was so excited. I don't know if it was because it was like ten in the morning and the store was pretty deserted, but the costumer services was AMAZING! They constantly asked me if I was alright or if I needed anything. <3

So they had a wall of perfumes. I instantly fell in love. I just couldn't stop smelling them and I'm completely sure that I left that store smelling like... I don't know what. But I'm sure I didn't smell good.

Anyway so I fell in love with four scent when I was there and I ended up buying two of the scents. (one in the store and one later in the week at the Nordstrom Rack) But the one I bought in the store was Juicy Couture's Juicy Couture fragrence. Now I only bought the small roll on kind that was like twenty dollars or something like that but I thought it would be nice to get to go along with my Viva La Juicy perfume that I already had at home (that perfume was what I named my blog after. just a little fun fact.)

Then I <3>Pink Sugar. It really does reminded me of the smell of cotton candy. I just can't get over how sweet I smell. I didn't buy it in the store because I felt kind of guilty spending like fifty bucks on perfume but I got it later at the Nordstrom Rack. I seriously do not regret my purchase! :)

The other two I really liked and considered buying before I saw the price were Michael Kors' Very Hollywood. It's scent is really light and kind of floral-y. But I like it soo much. They smell is just so subtle and magnificent and who doesn't love Michael from Project Runway?

The other was Burberry's scent The Beat. Just another fun fact: I'm like obsessed with Burberry. It's not really like a cutting edge fashion line, its more conservitive and classy. And even though I don't buy a lot of stuff from there (too expensive) I love to look. I became even more obsessed when I saw Emma Watson in their new campaign ads. She looks so good! :) But Burberry deffinately ranked in top five favorite desginers and I was not disappointed in their perfume.

I would not recommed buying anytype of perfume or scented product online unless you've already smelt the product. Especially if its a designer perfume. It would be a waste to spend all that money and then not even like the perfume.

I know that department store have a lot of perfume counters but I really don't like going to them because I feel a little awkward standing there trying perfumes and then the lady (sometimes ladies) is/are standing there just watching me. A little awkward. And then because I look a little young I've gotten attitude because they think I won't buy the product. Sephora is just easier because you get to just choose from a wall and smell.

Pink & Pamper

Manicures. I could sit back anytime, anywhere and happily get a manicure. Or a pedicure. Doesn't matter to me. Although pedicures scared me slightly due to the fungul thing. But I try to tell myself I'm being crazy. (then I specifically ask for the lady to bleach the bowl, I'm blanking on what its acutally called, before I put my foot in it) Handy tip: any place that charges you for that serive (& I've had that happen) isn't a good nail salon. Go somewhere else. :)

But since I'm not made of money I like to give myself manicures. Its a little treat that costs me however much a bottle of nail polish costs.

But now none of you probably know this but...I have another addiction other than shopping. I collect nail polishes. I know it sounds dumb but I love experimenting with different colors & designs. Although I can never quite make my french tips look quite as well as I'd like but I'm over it. (kind of)Princesses Rule! (OPI) over a coat of Got a Date To-Knight! (OPI)

Anyway. My favorite brands are OPI (small but highly prized part of my collection) & Splash which is a small cosmetic company based out of my home state. Their nail polishes are super cute & cheap but at this time I don't think you can buy them online. I order mine through a girl I know and I'm not sure how she does it. hmmm.....

But moving on. I love experimenting (although I'm kind of conservative design-wise). You won't see me walking aroung with crazy flamingos on my fingers (p.s. thats a little trashy).

But a good portion of my money goes towards nail polish. Its like I said earlier an addiction. But its makes me happy. At least I don't pay for manicures as often as I could. That would be a complete waste of money. But from time to time I pamper myself & let someone else do the work.

How do you pamper yourself?
