That Makes Scents

I'm a self-professed perfume junkie. My parents know that. My sister knows that. A few of my friends are also privy to that information. And I think a few of my readers know that as well.

So, I'm going to do a perfume/body spray collection once I get home but until then I'm going to do a Lust List featuring my favorite scents. I have a lot of them but I did a little editing. [my sister hates it when i use that word. do you guys get annoyed by the word 'editing'?]

First is my love. The love of all loves. Sigh. The one I have been drooling over for forever. Of course I'm talking about Flowerbomb. My love!

If you've ever smelled Flowerbomb, you'll know what I'm talking about. It is like a feast for the senses [or rather just the nose] but I fall in love each time I smell it. It has this sophisticated smell that's surprisingly young and fresh. And that's really hard to do.

Viktor & Rolf [which was launched the year of my birth. fun fact.] have created a scent that will truly last the ages. It is fresh and fun. Plus I love the juxtaposition of masculine [grenade shaped bottle] and ultra feminine [the use of the word, flower, in the name and the sweet scent]. But I feel like I have to say that violence is never the answer.

Moving on, the next two scents are from Burberry. My favorite fashion house of all time. Yes, even more than Chanel. [I think a few of my readers just entered cardiac arrest] But its so classy. So elegant. And hello? Emma Watson is the face of Burberry. What's not to love?

Well, I absolutely adore their scent, Burberry Brit Sheer. [emphasis on sheer] I actually really, really dislike Burberry Brit. To me it smells old and I just don't understand why you would want to put that on your body. But add the Sheer to it and change a few notes and you have an amazing product.

Sadly enough I'll enter a Sephora and imediately go to the scent section, spray a bit of Burberry Brit Sheer on those smell thing papers [obviously i don't know what they're called] and walk around smelling it as I shop. I know, I'm a complete loser.

But I do enjoy my shopping experience more when I'm smelling my favorite scents.

Next, another Burberry scent. Shocker. Shocker. [a little sarcastic] But it's Burberry London. This smell is a lot more sophisticated than the last two. When I smell it I think red-carpet or dinner party. But it isn't matron-ly.

I don't know how to explain it. It's the scent for the girl who has her life figured out. Who knows where she's going with her head held high. I'm not that girl [i have no idea where i'm going] but I want to be. And I think that's what attracted me to the scent.

I'm not great at explaining what something smells like [ex. honey with undertones of lilac and mango] but I can explain how things make me feel. And that's the best I can do.

Oh, is Burberry Sport a good scent? Surprisingly I've never smelled it. What are your favorite scents? Comment! Follow! :)

I Was Blind Sided

See:The Blind Side
This movie was sooo good! No wonder Sandra Bullock won the Oscar for Best Actress. I loved her southern spunk and Michael's honest sincerity. The little boy was super cute too! If you haven't caught this movie than it just came out on DVD earlier this week. You need to check it out! Even if you're not a huge football fan (I don't really like football) the story is so compelling that you forget that its supposed to be a sports movie. :) I just bought the book the movie is based off of. If its half as good as the movie than it will be money well spent.

Read:Big Boned
This is the third book in Meg Cabot's popular Heather Wells series. Think Nancy Drew but about fifteen years older and if Nancy Drew used to be a teen popstar with a loser popstar ex-boyfriend. :) I know, its so good. The past two books were amazing. I know I talked about the book Size 12 is Not Fat on my blog. Just click here to check it out. :) I recommend this book for anyone who's looking for a laugh and good ole whodunit. :)

Watch:Giuliana and Bill
Giuliana and Bill are hilarious! This show is so fascinating. They're just a regular old couple that have their diffrences (did anyone catch that episode where they got remarried?) but most of the time they're just a cute fun-loving pair. They're not too serious most of the time and in some ways this show kind of reminds me of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Just a little. :) If you're looking for a good laugh check these two out. :)

Wear:Michael Kors' Very Hollywood
This scent is soo addicting. If you don't know, I adore perfumes. But for the past two weeks I have constantly been reaching for this one scent. The bottle is so adorable and wearing it is kind of bitter-sweet (I mean I smell sooo good but I don't want to use up the entire bottle!). Every time I spritz myself, I glance down at the level of liquid in the bottle and I get a little nervous. :)

What's Your Philosophy?

Here's a review/haul of three of Philosophy's perfumes. I got these a while ago and so I postponed posting about them until I had some time to think about what I wanted to write. I wanted to give each perfume time. I  mean I wasn't sure if my opinion would change over time.

Isn't the title so cute? Falling in Love. Well, I've fallen in love. Pun intended. But its true. I have two backup bottles of this stuff. I know I have a problem. Its called a shopping addiction. :) Anyway, this scent is clean and the website says its for hopeless romantics.

This scent is hard to describe. Hmmm...It's not bad but I'm not in love with it. Its okay. I'll probably use the bottle up but I'm not going to have that smile on my face when I put it on. Its subtle and really hard to smell. But according to the website that's what they were going for. Subtle. In my opinion it's a little too subtle. If I spend this much money on a perfume then I want everyone to be able to smell. Duh! :)

I got this scent but I don't really like it. It smells like my mom. I know that's why you should ask your mother what lotion she uses before you buy something online. Yeah... It smells just like her. It doesn't really smell bad but I don't want to smell like her. Love her to death but I don't. Does that make me a bad person? Needless to say I gave this to her as an early Easter present. :) I know she'll enjoy it.

I bought these perfumes on the Philosophy website. Note to self: don't buy perfumes online. Even if you sister guarentees that they smell amazing and you won't regret buying them. Sigh.

Although I already knew what Falling in Love smelt like. My current bottle was almost gone and so I was just buying a back up for my back up. Like I said I have a problem. But doesn't everyone have that scent (or scents) that you know you will never fall out of love with? I must admit that I'm part of the latter party. :) Perfumes are my addiction.

What's your favorite scent? Plus! Giveaway ends in a couple days! Please Comment and then Follow! :D

What a Girl Wants

A girl can dream, can't she? Well, its been a while since I talked about perfume. Perfume is my thrid love, after tennis and fashion. :)

I'm thinking about doing a scent collection post in the next week or two because I got a few things for Christmas and I was really excited. Anyways, since I love scents I always enjoy going to Macy's and perusing through all the prefumes. Even though I always feel awkward when the ladies hover around me constantly asking if they can help me. I know they're just doing their job but if I wanted your help, I would ask. :)

These are some of the scents I would love to get for my birthday! Hint, hint Kiana. (I'm talking to my sister)

My friend May introduced me to Flowerbomb and I'm in love. Have you guys ever smelt it? To me it smells like heaven in a bottle. Okay, maybe that's an exageration but you know what I mean. :)

Sexy Little Things Noir. I've heard really good things about this scent. :) Plus, I think the perfume ball squirter thing (I obviously don't know what its called) is adorable. All of my scents are just have the regular pump and that's it. Even if it didn't smell so good, I would want it just because of the way it looks. :)

Twilight Woods. This isn't on my "I Want" List. I haven't smelt it but I'm curious. I didn't get a chance to smell it the last time I went into Bath and Body Works (maybe because I was frantically searching for a last minute Christmas present for my mom). If you have smelled this. Please tell me your thoughts. I'm really curious. :)

Well, this is my "I Wish" Perfume List. It isn't long. I really wanted to keep it short. :)

Well, since my last post I have been feeling very nostalgic. Most of you probably already know her but did you know that Rachel from The Redhead Fashionista was the first person to comment/follow my blog? I love her "Firday Favorites" posts and she's just an amazing blogger. She also writes the sweetest comments. :)

If you don't read her blog you need to check her out! Before she commented I was kind of in the "why am I writing a blog phase?" I didn't think anyone was reading it and I thought about deleting this entire thing.

Anway, this is kind of random but thanks Rachel! :D

Tomorrow I get to sleep in and I'm so excited. :) Yay! Please Comment and Follow! :D

In Love With Love

Hola, ladies.

In the March issue of Seventeen magazine, the one with Lauren Conrad on the cover, there is a coupon for free samples of VS PINK's perfumes. So yesterday my sister and I headed to our nearest VS PINK store with our Seventeen Magazine and picked up the free samples.

You got three tiny, and by tiny I mean tiny, containers of LIVE PINK (Yellow), WISH PINK (Pink), and HOPE PINK (Blue). My favorite scent is LIVE PINK. I think I might even get a bottle of the full container but I haven't decided yet.

Isn't the container so cute? I love it. :)

This offer is only available while supplies last and I don't think every VS PINK is participating. So be sure to check online before you go. But its free perfume.

Random thought but do you ever notice that if soemthing is free you want it. Like if I'm at a fair and they're handing out free things, I grab everything even though I know I won't use it. When things are free they're just so much more appealing.

It was kind of awkward because the lady I talked to about the free samples had no idea what I was talking about. :) Let's just say it took a while to find and get the free samples.

Today I went shopping with my dad because he waited to the last minute to buy his Valentine's Day gift for my mom. sigh. :) When will guys learn? I have no plans for Valentine's Day other than watching a ton of chick flicks and then tomorrow I'm off to a friend's hosue to work on a school project.

What's the point of having a four day weekend if one of the days must be dedicated to finishing a school project. Urgh. :(

Just a fun, quick question. But are you a romantic or a cynic? I'm just curious. :) Please Comment below. :)

Happy Valentine's Day!! :D

Viva La Perfume

Juicy Couture. The thought of stepping into one of those store makes me smile. :)

And while I might not be able to buy a juicy couture jump suit in every color, I saved up my money to buy the scents, Viva La Juicy and Juicy Couture.

I don't know if anyone knows I am obsessed with perfumes and body sprays. *sigh* When the package came in the mail I was so excited. I was short on money and so I bought the smallest size available in Juicy Couture.

But my sister bought Viva La Juicy and once I smelled it, I knew I wanted the bigger size. (Fun Fact: This is what I named my blog after.) So I splurged a little...and got the 3.4 oz. I think that's how much liquid it holds but please correct me if I'm wrong.

According to the Juicy Couture website, Viva La Juicy is supposed to smell like wild berries and mandarins. I don't know if that's what it smells like (but hey, I'm no smell expert). But let me tell you it smells sooo good. I highly recommend it.

I also got Juicy Couture but in the smaller container. I'm kind of regretting not getting a bigger size but I only had so much money to spend. :) I looked on the website to tell you guys what it was supposed to smell like, just to give you guys s refrence, but even I was confused.

Juicy Couture says that its supposed to be a watermelon, green apple, crushed leaves, hyacinth, vinalla, and like ten other smells mashed together. But don't let this fool you, it smells so good. :)

The next perfume I plan on buying is Michael Kor's Very Hollywood. I've talked about this one before and I still love it. It'll be a long time before I buy another perfume that expensive though...since I just spent A LOT of money on the ones from Juicy Couture.

*sigh* Oh, well. :) I think they were worth it. All those hours of babysitting...

What are your favorite perfumes? Do you like Viva La Juicy, Very Hollywood, or Juicy Couture? Please Comment and Follow! :D

What's in a Scent?

Scents, like taste, is something that separates us from the group. Even the best of friends have different likes and dislikes when it comes to smell. Although some smells are universal (is it safe for me to say that almost everyone dislikes the smell of an unclean bathroom?) perfumes are not.

Perfumes, soaps, and anything scented are not something you should take people's word for. I've heard countless people say that they adore the smell of Lush's Therapy Massage Bar and when I first smelled it at the store I think I actually gagged. But I bought it anyway (don't know what I was thinking) and I keep trying to smell it in hopes that I guess maybe miraculously the scent will change and I'll see what everyone else smell. But it never happens. Needless to say I don't use it very often. :(

But during my trip to my aunt's, I visited my first Sephora. I'm not sure if I already mentioned this but I was so excited. I don't know if it was because it was like ten in the morning and the store was pretty deserted, but the costumer services was AMAZING! They constantly asked me if I was alright or if I needed anything. <3

So they had a wall of perfumes. I instantly fell in love. I just couldn't stop smelling them and I'm completely sure that I left that store smelling like... I don't know what. But I'm sure I didn't smell good.

Anyway so I fell in love with four scent when I was there and I ended up buying two of the scents. (one in the store and one later in the week at the Nordstrom Rack) But the one I bought in the store was Juicy Couture's Juicy Couture fragrence. Now I only bought the small roll on kind that was like twenty dollars or something like that but I thought it would be nice to get to go along with my Viva La Juicy perfume that I already had at home (that perfume was what I named my blog after. just a little fun fact.)

Then I <3>Pink Sugar. It really does reminded me of the smell of cotton candy. I just can't get over how sweet I smell. I didn't buy it in the store because I felt kind of guilty spending like fifty bucks on perfume but I got it later at the Nordstrom Rack. I seriously do not regret my purchase! :)

The other two I really liked and considered buying before I saw the price were Michael Kors' Very Hollywood. It's scent is really light and kind of floral-y. But I like it soo much. They smell is just so subtle and magnificent and who doesn't love Michael from Project Runway?

The other was Burberry's scent The Beat. Just another fun fact: I'm like obsessed with Burberry. It's not really like a cutting edge fashion line, its more conservitive and classy. And even though I don't buy a lot of stuff from there (too expensive) I love to look. I became even more obsessed when I saw Emma Watson in their new campaign ads. She looks so good! :) But Burberry deffinately ranked in top five favorite desginers and I was not disappointed in their perfume.

I would not recommed buying anytype of perfume or scented product online unless you've already smelt the product. Especially if its a designer perfume. It would be a waste to spend all that money and then not even like the perfume.

I know that department store have a lot of perfume counters but I really don't like going to them because I feel a little awkward standing there trying perfumes and then the lady (sometimes ladies) is/are standing there just watching me. A little awkward. And then because I look a little young I've gotten attitude because they think I won't buy the product. Sephora is just easier because you get to just choose from a wall and smell.
