Emma Enchanted

I have been a terrible blogger. Or at least that's how I've been feeling lately. I don't know if that's been coming across. If you've noticed that I haven't been commenting lately on your blog then its not because I'm not interested--because I really am!--but I just haven't had time.

I get home from tennis practice and I'm exhauseted. Then I have to tend to my garden--which I planted like a week ago and beyond thrilled; more on that in a later post--and then I have to swim with my sister and help her train for swim team next year. Are there any of my readers swimmers? If so, do you have any tips for training. Please leave them in the comments.

Then, after all that I try to squeeze in a normal social life, bogging, and meals. I don't want you guys to feel like I'm complaining. Because I don't want it to come off that way. I just want to give you guys a reason why I'm not as present as I used to be.

I will begin to make a conscience effort to get back into the swing of things after the 4th of July holiday. Crazy weekend! Eeeek! :D

Anyway, I adore Emma Watson. She has impeccable style and she's so classy. A total role model for women of all ages. :) And here she is. Enjoy.

When you were scrolling through these pictures, you might have noticed that Emma is posing with some of fashion's most brilliant minds. :) I love it when designers are featured in photoshoots. I don't know, its like seeing the author of your favorite book. Like that makes any sense either.

Well, in order Emma is photographed with: Vivienne Westwood, Philip Tracey, Christopher Bailey, and Alexander McQueen. There were about four other designers but I didn't have space to fit them all. Plus, Vanity Fair has a nice slideshow on their website. Who doesn't like slideshows?

They make information so much easier to grasp.

Anyway, I'm off to sleep. This blog is being posted at 12:21 AM. I'm up super late and figured I'd be productive rather than sit in front of the TV watching info-mercials for all these random products. Bye! :)

So Classic. So Timeless.

Summer. Classic. Chic. Fun. Adventure.

This is what I hope my summer is like. :) But I'd also like to look totally chic for summer and I turn to my celebrity inspiration to get ideas. I think I might do a series about summer chic-ness. Hmm...the possibilities.

Anyway, who better to start off a summer of fun and chic-ness (I'm not quite sure if that's a word or not) than Nicole Richie? Her Bohemian style transitions effortlessly into summer. So that's where I'm going to start my inspiration journey. :) Inspiration journey. Wow. That makes this sound like a deep, life changing experience.

Ok. I'll just get to the point of this blog. How to "Dress Like..." Nicole Richie! :)

Tennis summer camp started last week. Oh. My. Goodness. I have never run that much in my life. I don't know why it became super hot as soon as I started playing tennis. And I don't mean like 60-70 degrees. I'm talking like 70-80 degrees hot!

I know some people are thinking, 80 degrees? That's nothing. But I live in the North. The only time it gets hot is in July and August. :) I'm also really red because I wasn't smart enough to reapply my sunscreen. Not very smart...

I'm bummed that the USA is out of the World Cup! :( I can't believe we lost. After we'd come so far! Did anyone see the game against Algeria? Intense. I'm not normally a big soccer fan but it was nice watching soccer.

I don't know if I mentioned this but I planted a garden about a week and a half ago and some of my plants are coming up! I love gardening. It doesn't give me instant gratification but I like being able to see the progress I've made, you know? :)

I'm trying to be a little bit more organic and healthy. Plus, its just cool being able to say that you grow your own strawberries. Did you know there are purple carrots? I had no idea.

Sorry. :) This was a long post. But I feel like I haven't been blogging as often as I should. So I'm making up for it in one kind of long blog. :D Happy summer.

Shoes For Summer

I know. I know. I keep talking about summer but how can I not? Summer is the season of my birth, (Go Summer babies!) and its also the second best time of the year. Behind Christmas, of course. :) I'm so excited for summer that did some shopping. Here's a quick look at a few of the things I picked up.

My favorite inexpensive picks. All of these shoes are under $20. Some of them you can own at the super low price of $13.49.What do you think? Of the shoes and their price.

The color is adorable. Surpsingly I don't own any pink sandals. I'm not a very big pink fan. I don't know why. I mean I think it can be pretty--it can also be gaudy--but I'm not the girl who's room is covered in pink. Do you find that surprising? Comment below. But I love the color of these shoes. I think I already said that but its true! :)

Flats are perfect for summer. :) I don't normally wear heels--because where I live it rains almost everyday. I mean if we go a whole week without rain, its almost newsworthy. I'm not an everyday heel girl but I love how heels make my legs look. I have these gorgeous platform faux crocodile skin pumps. Gosh. I love those things. :) But back to the shoes, I love the bead detailing. It's that perfect spark of flash that pumps up the volume.

A black and brown flat. Its classic. I have a beautiful pair that I bought a couple years ago but a few years can put a lot of wear and tear on a pair of shoes. :) Even though I don't love the intense galdiator look--you know the one with the straps that reach a girl's knees--I love the echoes of gladiator inspiration. It slightly modernizes an old classic. Every girl needs a basic sandal for summer!
Turquoise. And white. I'm not quite sure what I'd wear these with. Maybe some jeans and a simple tee. Hmmm...what do you think? What outfit would not be complet with these unique, showstoppers? I'm in love with them. I have nothing in my closet that looks anything like this. That's why I think I like it so much. :)

Oh! I'm so excited. I was watching Glee on the FOX website and I finally saw the episode called Acafellas. :) It was the funniest Glee episode I think I've ever seen. There's something extremely funny about four grown men practicing acapella hip-hop in Mr. Schuster's living room.

I was a little late jumping on the Glee bandwagon and so I missed a lot of the earlier episodes. So I was thrilled when I realized I could catch up! :D I just love Glee in general. Are you a Gleek? Comment below!

Before Twilight

Hola, senoritas! And Senors. :) I hope I didn't spell anything wrong. I'm not taking Spanish so I really don't know what I'm doing but I thought I'd mix up my greetings. :) My friend is trying to teach me Spanish and its going pretty well.

Anyway, I saw that Gina from anything ima[gina]ble did a summer reading list. And I thought I'd do the same thing. :) Here's her post if any of you were interested.

So I've created a Summer Reading List. Its just for fun and it isn't for school or anything. I noticed that I tend to resent or seriously dislike things that I'm forced to do. For example: School. If I couldn't go to school or if it were an option I'm so positive that I would love it. I would be devastated if I couldn't go and get an education.

But...since I have to go to school, I resent that I have to get up every morning at six or six-thirty, depending on if I have any homework I didn't do the night before. Maybe its the whole getting up early that makes me dislike school. Hmm...

But here are the books I plan to read this summer. :)

*Persuasion by Jane Austen
*Private by Kate Brian
*The Host by Stephenie Meyer
*Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare
*Fool For Love by Sam Shepard
*A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway

I think that's enough. Seven books in three months is doable, right? I guess if I don't finish its no big deal. I mean only me and you will ever know. :) I tried to do a balanced list between "classics" and more modern books. If there are any books that I just need to read then write them in the comments.

Over the course of the summer, I will end up reading at least three books that aren't on this list and I think that's okay. :) I mean I found about Twilight series the summer before ninth grade and I loved that book. I could not put it down. Although to be honest I didn't know about the whole Twilight series or the fact that it was a series.
I read New Moon first so maybe that's why that book has a special place in my heart. It came with tattoos and a poster and I remember thinking, "Who is this Edward guy and why would I want a temporary tattoo of his name?"

Hahaha. Good times. :) Well, I want to know if you have a summer reading list? If not, what're you doing this summer? Hitting the beach? Catching up on sleep? I really want to know. :)

Good Ole Navy

I started training for XC yesterday. Ran two miles. I. Am. So. Sore. I'm just lying down. I don't even want to think about moving. Not going to move until much later. I'd laugh but then my ab muscles would hurt. :)

Anyway. I love the nautical look. Its summer so I'm thinking of the ocean and sand. Maybe its because my dad was in the Navy. Idk. But I don't like the super obvious and sometimes tacky nautical look. I think Blake and Jessica are subtle and sohpisticated. Its not over the top but both of these ladies are sporting looks with just enough nautical flare. :)

Blake Lively. Wearing Henly Tank, Navy and White Smythe Jacket, Skinny Jeans,
and Peep-Toe Pumps.

Jessica Alba with Cash Warren in Los Angelos. Wearing Navy and Blue Coat, Black
Cardigan, Simple White Top, Dark Washed Skinny Jeans, and Red Ballet Flats.

How cute are Jessica's flats? Adorable. :) I'm just going to sit around today. I might run a mile today but I don't know. I need to get my stamina up. I don't know...I'll think about it. Have a great Tuesday. Pretty Little Liars is on today! Yay! So excited. :D

Ignorance Pt. One

The quote above is from Elton John's hit, Your Song. Beuatiful. Definately worht checking out. It was also featured in Moulin Rouge! I love that movie. <3

Anyway, I was blog surfing today and I feel across this tag-thing. I'm not quite sure what it is. I found it at Emma's blog. Head over there if you'd like to see the entire tag but a while ago someone told me (through a comment) that long, seemingly endless tags aren't fun.

So I decided a while ago if any tag seemed overwhelming, that I would split it up into a few smaller parts. :) Well, here's part one! I hope you enjoy. And maybe you could do it. Comment below if you're going to because I'm super nosey and I want to know what you're going to post about! Just kidding--kind of! :)

Here are the rules!
1. Put your MP3/iPod/iTunes on shuffle
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer
3. You must write down the name down, no matter how silly it sounds

If someone says "Is this okay?" you say:
He Could Be the One--Hannah Montana [I'm blushing as I write this!]

How would you describe yourself?
Whatcha Say--Jason Derulo

What do you like in a guy/girl?
Shake It--Metro Station

What is your life's purpose?
Poker Face--Lady Gaga

What's your motto?
Love Drunk--Boys Like Girls

What do your friends think of you?
Forever and Always--Taylor Swift

What do your parents think of you?
Jessie's Girl--Rick Springfield

What do you think about very often?
Buttons--Pussycat Dolls

What do you think of the person you like?
Keeps Getting Better--Christina Aguliera

That was a fun! I like tags. And btw: I tag everyone who wants to do it! Good luck. :)
